Chapter 13 - 13: Conglomerate/Conference

February 2nd. 11:56 pm.

The Harmony Conglomerate held an emergency conference to discuss Shaun Novikoff's release. Only 7 representatives were able to attend, a record low.

Attended Representatives

US: Greg Bushell, Peter Chambers, Angela Emerson

Japan: Arata Matsuoka

Russia: Callahan Novikoff, Dmitri Putin

Britain: Jack Cross

The room was in chaos. The representatives and their secretaries were in a panic, rummaging through old files.

"We need to find a way to counter that regeneration. What poisons do we have?!" Angela yelled.

"Are you even sure that will work? He was made to be the perfect soldier." Callahan let out a cocky smirk. His accent was strong.

"How about you look in those family files of yours and find out, asshole." She growled.

He simply burst out laughing.

"Hey, now... let's calm down a bit." Jack Cross walked in front of them before commanding them. "There will be no arguing or fighting with each other in this conference room until we can leave, only friendly debating." He clapped, using his power to set this rule on everyone in the room.

"Fine." Angela complied, sighing.

Undisturbed by this, Callahan simply crossed his arms and watched everyone else.

"I propose a solution. Matsuoka!" Cross's eyes darted to him. "The people you sent were former Shinurai bounties, correct?"

He sighed and stood up. "The best in my arsenal."

Angela scowled in frustration.

"And currently..." Cross moved some hair out of his face. "That system is still going. There's a man there. One of mine." A smile started growing on his face. He knew he could force his will onto the rest of them.

The room began debating their options once again, even though they had no idea who this person was. Jack Cross was the youngest person in the conglomerate as a whole, but he still came from an experienced family

"That 'Kyoko' fellow, correct?" Greg Bushell's voice broke through the chaos. The other present members of the Conglomerate grew quiet, awaiting the scheming mans response.

"Precisely!" Cross yelled as he pointed at Bushell. He then looked around at the rest of the conference. "Tetsuya Kyoko. The power of future sight... That's not the only one I have here." He looked around, attempting to judge how much suspense he should gather. "One of Novikoff's weaknesses is emotional manipulation. There is no way he can ignore that type of stuff. And I have just the right power on someone." He grinned ear to ear as the screen flashed a simple four letter word. "Fear!"

The area was silent.

"Cut the theatrics, please." Angela said, clearly tired of Jack's antics. She got out her clipboard and pen and started writing the names of the people Arata Matsuoka had sent as well as the new person introduced to the group. "The name of this person?"

"Ichisaki," He answered, his smile faded.

Soon after, the conference ended. This was then known as the shortest meeting in the Conglomerates history.

Two years later.

END OF CHAPTER

Sorry for the short chapter i had to force myself to do this one since i didn't fully like how this arc was written, but i didn't see it in myself to rewrite it. I've been busy with college work. I just finished my second year of college, so hopefully I can find the time and motivation to continue working on this. Have fun in Hawaii.
