Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

Julius alerted since the drone movements had tried reaching his two daughters only to find out that they weren't in their rooms nor were they anywhere near the training vicinity where the had always planned their mischief.

" Argh" he tripped almost falling to the ground as the feeling of his chest bring tightened along with his body trembling began increasing. Anger was all that could be seen in his eyes. He reached into his pocket for his phone an old model own and called for assistance.

" It's red outside the walls, we have uninvited guest and my two girls are missing. I need you to prioritize finding them while you send some men to keep an eye on the guests " he order his voice trembling while the other person on the phone gave assurance of the order.

" Bastards, how dare they, how dare they try to take from me what I'd dear" he cried in rage his fist slamming into the ground creating several cracks. " I'll need to sound a deep warning to the Mia never to bring to me her troubles"

Julius stood from the ground adjusting his state and began growling while he transformed into a complete were-human and in an instant bolted to the place he had suspected the guest to have been as he couldn't shake off the thought of his daughter being there.

Crook at the moment was rushing round the town in a shadow form making him merge with the vile of the night as he tried to look for his people whom he was in charge of. He had been trying to contact them and it seemed that only skara and yuan li were able to respond while the others were at the moment dark. As Crook prowled through the shadows, his senses on high alert, he suddenly stopped in his tracks. A haunting howl pierced the night air, sending shivers down his spine. The sound was unmistakable - a werewolf's call, and one that sent a particular chill down Crook's spine. The howl was familiar, a distinctive cadence that echoed through the streets like a warning.

Crook's eyes narrowed as he recognized the howl. It was Julius, the leader of the influential wolf pack. The sound sent a shiver down Crook's spine, and he knew that Julius was on the hunt. It seemed like what he feared had now become reality.

Crook's thoughts turned to his people, the ones he had been trying to contact. Skara and Yuan Li were still responding, but the others... He pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the present. Julius's howl was a warning, a signal that something was amiss and there's a possibility of a showdown.

With a newfound sense of urgency, Crook began to move swiftly through the shadows, his senses heightened as he tracked the sound of Julius's howl. He knew that Julius was a force to be reckoned with, and if he was on the hunt, it meant bodies being torn apart .

As Crook moved through the darkness, he caught glimpses of figures moving in the distance. Julius's men, responding to their master's call. Crook's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What had Julius discovered? And how would it affect his own people?

The night air was thick with tension, and Crook knew that he had to tread carefully. Julius was not a man to be trifled with, and if he was on the hunt, it meant that someone was in grave danger. Crook's instincts told him to stay out of Julius's way, but his duty to his people compelled him to investigate further.

With a calculated risk, Crook continued to follow the trail, his senses on high alert, as he navigated the complex web of alliances and rivalries that defined the city's underworld. As Julius's howl echoed through the night, his daughters Fray and Gwen were oblivious to the danger that lurked nearby. They were too busy trying to evade the hail of bullets fired by the soldiers, who had finally deciphered the pattern of their movements.

The soldiers, having been toyed with by the children's tricks earlier, had grown cautious and calculated in their approach. They had set up a perimeter around the training grounds, determined to capture the girls.

Fray and Gwen darted between the shadows, their hearts racing as they tried to avoid the bullets, the situation had become something unexpected . They had always been agile and quick, but the soldiers were relentless.

"Faster, Gwen!" Fray yelled, grabbing her sister's hand and pulling her toward a nearby alleyway.

They sprinted down the narrow passage, the sound of gunfire and shouting soldiers closing in behind them. Gwen stumbled, her foot catching on a loose paving stone, but Fray caught her and pulled her up.

"Keep moving!" Fray urged, as they burst out of the alleyway and into a nearby park their bloodlust at the moment began to become uncontrollably.

The soldiers were hot on their heels, their flashlights casting eerie shadows on the ground. Fray and Gwen knew they had to keep moving, or risk being caught.

As they ran, the sound of Julius's howl grew fainter, replaced by the sound of gunfire and shouting. The girls exchanged a worried glance, knowing they had to get out of there - fast or they would risk being what they didn't want to become.

But where could they hide? The soldiers seemed to be everywhere, and Julius's rage was growing by the minute. Fray and Gwen knew they had to think fast, or risk becoming pawns in a much larger game and given that it was their fault they couldn't do anything but just hope their father appears faster than the soldiers could get to them.

They had managed to evade the soldiers so far, but their luck was about to run out. Fray and Gwen were running through the deserted pathways almost away from the city's outskirts, their breathing ragged as they desperately tried to find a safe haven. Suddenly, a hail of bullets whizzed past their heads, forcing them to duck for cover behind a nearby dumpster.

"Get down!" Fray yelled, pulling Gwen into the shadows.

The soldiers closed in, their guns trained on the girls' hiding spot. Fray peeked around the corner, her eyes scanning the area for an escape route. That's when she saw him - a towering figure with a rifle, his eyes fixed intently on them.

"Gwen, we need to move, now!" Fray shouted, grabbing her sister's hand.

But it was too late. The soldier had already taken aim, and a bullet whizzed past Fray's ear, grazing her skin. She winced in pain as Gwen pulled her back into the shadows.

"We can't stay here," Gwen whispered urgently. "We need to find a way out of here, fast."

Fray nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. They couldn't outrun the soldiers, not with their superior firepower. They had now given up on running and decided to let loose what they had been restraining.

And just when they were about to make a counter move, a figure in which they had not seen since a while appeared and alongside him were five werewolves who stood face to face to the incoming assault.
