Chapter 533 - Chapter 548: Weakest of Rocks, Strongest of Drunks

"You too are a General of the World Government?"

Just as Garp stood firmly in the air, arms folded across his chest, caught in a tangle of thoughts—

—suddenly, a cold voice rang out from behind him.

Garp turned his head in puzzlement.

There he saw a handsome youth, white-haired and green-eyed, draped in a silver-gray robe, his entire body radiating with a cyan divine light.

"You're also a God? You're planning to enter there as well?"

Garp, with an odd expression, pointed toward the barrier beside him.

"No self-introduction? Truly rude, mortal."

Deldort glared at Garp in displeasure, then continued: "Listen well. I am Deldort, God of Oaths and Covenants. I have made a pact with the God of Vastness and Order to join forces and defeat the Azure Dragon General of the World Government."

"So consider yourself fortunate. Leave now, and you still have time!"

Their plan was to use numbers to their advantage—band together and first take down Kaido.

Then, one by one, they would encircle and wipe out the other Generals of the World Government.

The first target was Kaido.

What Deldort had not expected was to encounter another here.

Yet since the pact was already sealed, he had no choice but to join forces with Zufmuut against Kaido.

"Hmm, fine then. Go on in."

After a moment's thought, Garp agreed.

And before Deldort's astonished gaze, he vanished into thin air.

"Huh?"

"What?!"

Caught off guard, Deldort hurriedly extended his divine sense across dozens of kilometers, yet found nothing.

Two possibilities presented themselves: either the man had truly left—

—or his concealment ability was extremely refined.

Deldort leaned toward the latter.

Most likely the man couldn't breach Zufmuut's spatial barrier—

—and so intended to sneak inside while he himself entered.

The more he considered it, the more sense it made. But the issue left no room for choice.

He had to step into the barrier and fight alongside Zufmuut.

"This god knows your scheme. No matter. If you dare to follow me in, then come—but leaving again won't be so simple!"

Deldort issued his cold warning to the empty void.

Then he flew to the barrier, unleashing a silver beam of divine light.

As the beam struck the barrier, a passageway just wide enough for a single person automatically opened.

Without hesitation, he kept a wary eye on his surroundings as he transformed into a streak of light and darted through.

"Hmph! At my speed, following me in would be no easy feat!"

Deldort allowed himself a flicker of pride.

But the instant he entered, a furious, familiar voice—laced with anger, shock, and urgency—roared out: "Deldort, aid me!!!"

Snapping his eyes ahead, Deldort saw it—

—his friend, the God of Vastness and Order, Zufmuut.

Clutched in Kaido's giant-like palm, Zufmuut struggled frantically.

His hair was disheveled, blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, and all trace of his usual noble composure was gone.

"Th-this is…"

Deldort glanced over and spotted Duncan in the distance, watching the scene as if it were a show. He shouted furiously: "Duncan, why aren't you helping Zufmuut?!"

"Mm… I cannot bully the few with the many."

Duncan's face twisted with conflict.

"You—!"

Deldort wanted to curse him.

[WOOOM——]

At that moment, a brighter silver light burst forth from Deldort's body, and divine power welled up from within him as if out of nothing.

At the same time, a brilliant blue glow flared from Zufmuut within Kaido's grip.

On Zufmuut's face, twisted with both fury and fear, a spark of joy suddenly appeared.

Deldort's covenant power had activated!

The strength of both gods surged upward at a rate visible to the naked eye.

"Oh?"

Kaido naturally sensed Zufmuut's aura expanding at an alarming pace.

Earlier, the slash Zufmuut had swung at him hadn't harmed him in the slightest.

Because by the World Government's scale, Zufmuut's strength was no more than Lieutenant General level.

The result was simple: this so-called God of Vastness and Order had been easily crushed in Kaido's palm.

But now!

Zufmuut's aura had risen to the level of a General.

Though it was about the same as an Admiral's strength from a few years back—

—it was no longer something Kaido could casually squeeze in his hand.

Zufmuut tore free from Kaido's grasp, transforming into a streak of blue light that darted to Deldort's side.

And Deldort's aura as well had risen to a level Kaido could no longer dismiss.

Kaido's expression grew solemn. From the time the Dimensional Gate had appeared until now, barely five years had passed.

Even though all of them had grown much stronger—

—the difference was not so great compared to the Admirals' strength of five years ago.

Especially Kaido himself.

Compared to Kuzan, Sakazuki, and Newgate, his growth in strength was hardly fast.

Not to mention compared with Garp.

And beyond that, there was still Duncan—an unpredictable factor.

If Duncan suddenly made up his mind to take action against him, then Kaido would face the combined assault of three Admiral-level powers!

That would be an absolute dead end!

At this moment, Kaido felt a pressure like never before.

Yet—he laughed.

"Wororororo~~!"

"That's how it should be—always fight with the resolve to die!"

"This is the kind of battle I've been craving!"

Without the slightest fear, Kaido's spirit flared even higher. He hefted his kanabō and laughed madly to the sky.

His laughter filled the barrier-sealed space.

At the same time, he pulled from the pocket of his coat of justice a small pill and tossed it into his mouth.

"Hmph, cornered already—probably some life-burning drug."

Zufmuut, disheveled and bitter, sneered.

"No… that smells like liquor." Duncan suddenly spoke: "I can smell the heavy scent of alcohol!"

"Exactly!"

Kaido's eyes grew blood-red, his breath spilling out waves of liquor-scented vapor like smoke.

Grinning wide, he laughed as he looked at the three gods.

"This is the 'Alcohol Pill' I had specially made by the Science Division!"

"Puhuhuhuhuhuhu~~ Wororororo~~!"

Kaido laughed louder and louder, his face streaked with streaming tears.

But the very next second, his face twisted in fury as he let out a savage roar.

"You three bastards, come at me together!"

"No—you've got it wrong. I'm going to kill all three of you right now!"

[BOOM!]

A purple bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky and struck Kaido's body.

In the next moment—

His entire body pushed forward with a wave of dense, liquor-scented air, his movement tearing the sky with booming sonic blasts as he became a massive ball of electricity and light.

In an instant, he appeared before Zufmuut and Deldort, his kanabō surging with lightning and overwhelming Haki, swinging down upon their heads.

The iron club came crashing down!

Zufmuut's blue-gold longsword and the silver-white chains that appeared before Deldort—

Together they wove a radiance of divine power, blue and silver intermingled, blocking head-on Kaido's thunderous, savage strike.

[BOOM!!!]

Black-red lightning and bright violet lightning tangled into one, engulfing the space within dozens of meters around the three of them.

At the same time, the surging shockwaves stirred violent gales, each current of air within those winds sharp as a blade.

In an instant, they filled the barrier-sealed space.

"How is this possible—we can't suppress him even together?!"

Blasted back by the energy detonation, Zufmuut's face twisted in shock.

"It truly makes no sense. Back in the vision we saw at Emroy's temple, this guy wasn't nearly this strong!"

Deldort, surrounded by silver-white chains, spoke with a grave expression.

But who could have guessed—his words made Kaido, who only a moment ago had been snarling in rage, suddenly stop, cover his face, and burst into tears.

"Yeah, I'm weak. Back in the Rocks Pirates, I was the weakest. Even after joining the World Government, I'm still the weakest… uuuuhhh… and you lot even gang up on me. That's just too cruel!"

The more Kaido spoke, the sadder he became. His crying grew louder, exaggerated—tears and snot streaming freely.

Deldort and Zufmuut, the two chief gods, were left speechless.

"Looks like he's completely drunk… 'Liquor Pills,' is it? Hmph, I wouldn't mind trying some myself…"

Not far away, Duncan licked his lips. The reek of alcohol wafting off Kaido to him was nothing less than the most tantalizing aroma of fine wine.

"You three have gone too far!!!"

Suddenly, Kaido threw back his head and roared in fury.

The murderous red glow in his eyes seemed ready to burst forth from his sockets.

The next moment—

He swung his spiked club as he spun in place at blinding speed.

In an instant he became a giant, purple-glowing blur of a top.

All the while, arcs of black-red lightning shot outward around him in unceasing bursts.

"Duncan, how long do you plan to just stand there watching?!"

Zufmuut bellowed furiously, the azure divine radiance around his body shining ever brighter.

From his blue-gold divine sword burst countless streams of dazzling light.

Deldort did not answer.

But the chains around him slithered like silver serpents, carving graceful arcs as they struck at Kaido's flank.

At that moment, the 'spinning top' stopped.

Kaido, harnessing the momentum of his rotation, swept his crackling spiked club into a storm of countless afterimages—dense and impenetrable.

They came crashing down in a deluge upon Zufmuut, Deldort, and Duncan, who still hesitated.

This time, Duncan wasted no more thought.

He hefted his blazing, red-hot axe-hammer, raising with it a towering wall of fire, interlaced with the shadows of his weapon.

[BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!]

The battlefield erupted in wave after wave of relentless bombardment.

Kaido alone stood his ground against three chief gods!

The surrounding space barrier began to tremble visibly.

Yet none of them noticed that, amid this chaotic flood of energy, a lone figure lurked in the shadows, watching the fierce clash with keen interest.

"Didn't think that brat Kaido had something like this hidden away. In this drunken state, his Haki's far stronger than that punk Bullet's."

Hidden from sight, Garp clicked his tongue in wonder as he watched Kaido.

Meanwhile—

The drunken rampage of Kaido against Deldort, Zufmuut, and Duncan only grew fiercer.

In the void, thunder fell like torrential rain, lightning split the sky, fire roared like crashing waves, seas of flame churned and surged.

At speeds far beyond the naked eye's perception, they darted, collided, and flashed against one another.

Their strikes grew heavier, their gazes more savage.

Kaido's roar suddenly drowned out all other thunder.

Wreathed in torrents of lightning, his spiked club swung down at blinding speed toward Deldort.

Though the god had already raised chains of divine power to shield himself—

The might behind that club was beyond belief, smashing through the chains and slamming square into his chest.

"Ghh!"

Deldort was hurled away in a burst of violet lightning, his body trailing a straight silver streak as he crashed into the space barrier a hundred kilometers away.

"Urgh—!"

No sooner had he spat out a mouthful of blood, thinking it was finally over, than the barrier behind him—already riddled with cracks—shattered outright from the impact, and his body kept flying under that overwhelming force.

On the other side, locked in a frenzy, one man and two gods had no time to check on Deldort's condition.

Zufmuut seized the opening as Kaido's swing against Deldort left him slightly overextended.

He poured all his divine power into the blue-gold longsword, which transformed into a brilliant azure beam that struck Kaido squarely in the chest.

At the same time, Duncan's blazing axe-hammer, radiating searing heat and immense force, slammed down on Kaido's back.

"Gwahhh—!"

The simultaneous strikes from Zufmuut and Duncan were more than even Kaido could endure.

Blood sprayed from his fanged mouth in a crimson torrent.

Yet he showed not a trace of fear. The purple radiance of his Haki only blazed brighter, violet lightning bursting together with black-red arcs in a furious storm.

Soon after, Deldort streaked back across the sky in a flash of silver light.

Though his face was twisted in pain, blood stained his lips, and his figure looked battered, he had not lost the ability to fight. He rejoined Zufmuut and Duncan, pressing Kaido with a renewed, ferocious assault.

...

"Looks like the brat Kaido's losing this one…"

Still concealed near the center of the battlefield, Garp quietly watched Kaido take blow after blow, coughing up great gouts of blood, his coat of justice reduced to tattered rags.

"Well, makes sense. Even for me back then, I could never have stood against three Admirals at once… hell, even two would've been difficult."
