Shen Yue adapts to circumstances rather than pursuing them; this is an important teaching method in cultivation.
Although it is said that if the mind is undifferentiated, all laws are as one, achieving an undifferentiated mind is indeed not a day's work, therefore, many expedient teachings have emerged before this.
Adapting to circumstances without pursuing them is such an expedient teaching, aimed at resolving attachments without creating disturbances.
If one pursues circumstances, it is inevitable to think of achieving the attachment, which merely arises from ulterior motives. Once ulterior motives arise, worldly attachments become even more, appearing as though resolving attachments, yet increasing them instead.
Adapting to circumstances is not about being content with what one encounters but about transforming with what one encounters.
