Tomorrow will be spent searching for traces of the hunting team. If he really can't find them, he plans to carry this sheep back to West Valley Village.
He thinks he can carry back over fifty pounds of meat, enough to feed those dozen or so primitives for a few meals.
His idea is that with such abundant prey nearby, the primitives should all be moved here to live.
Even though there are herds of beasts, which are very dangerous, at least the food is plentiful.
He skinned the sheep, cleaned its innards, and then carried the mutton into his cave.
The sky gradually darkened. He quickly gathered some firewood and stuffed it into the cave. He also fetched two basins of water.
There was a clearing below the cave.
He lit a fire on the clearing and then went around collecting dry wood.
Collected a lot. Then he began to stew the mutton.
He had been eating very poorly for many days. Now that there was mutton to eat, it truly felt wonderful.
