Chapter 356 - 9

"Are you excited to see what your classmates are going to be like?"

Izuku looked up from the notebook he was writing in. He was currently sitting in the passenger seat of a car with Himiko and his mother, the vehicle loaded up to the brim with boxes.

Himiko sat in the seat behind him, leaning against the boxes as she took a short nap. They had decided to get an early start on their trip to the UAU dormitories, and she was not a morning person.

Izuku looked to his side, Inko focusing ahead as she drove.

"Yeah, I can't wait to see what all kind of quirks they have!" He smiled brightly in excitement. "I hope she was able to make it in…"

"Who?"

"… Did I say that last part out loud?"

Inko giggled. "Afraid you did, sweetie."

Izuku blushed at the admission. He kept trying to curb that muttering habit of his, but he just couldn't escape it, especially when he got excited.

"Ugh." Izuku scratched the back of his head, a light blush coming to his cheeks. "I-I was talking about the woman I saved in the entrance exam."

"Oh, I'm sure she made it in. You said her quirk could erase the gravity of things she touched?"

Izuku nodded.

"Then UA would be silly if they denied admission of someone with a quirk like that! Imagine how many people with severe injuries during accidents could be saved with a quirk like that. Without having to worry about carrying them, it would be so much easier to provide them aid as they were evacuated!"

"That's exactly what I was thinking!" Izuku beamed. He flipped to the page in his notebook that he had made for the gravity girl.

Time passed as the two gushed over the applications of a gravity defying quirk, and other quirks used for rescue and medicine. The trailed off as they pulled up to and passed the main gates of the UAU campus.

Inko drove slowly, her jaw dropping. "Wow… I didn't pay it too much attention when I was last here, but this place is amazing."

The gates rose high, clearly designed for vehicles of immense size to pass through. They followed the designated roads to the dorm buildings. As they pulled up to the one labeled "Heights Alliance", the two Midoriyas couldn't help but stare up at the large building in awe. Himiko snored in the back seat.

Izuku reached back, tapping her on the leg. "Himiko, wake up. We're here!"

"Snrk, huh-wha-where am I?" Her eyes fluttered open, hands raising to rub away her sleepiness, groaning. "I was just getting to the good part. I was just about to bite into the bloodiest broccoli I had ever seen."

Izuku chuckled, finding her actions cute amusing. "Time to get out, we're at the dorms."

The dorm before them was a tall building, about 5 stories tall. Marble pillars lined the entrance, framing two sets of double doors.

Izuku stepped out of the car, opening the rear door nearest Himiko. He looked in, seeing Himiko lean back into the boxes, clearly intending to go back to sleep. He reached in, pulling her away from them by her shoulder.

"None of that now, Himiko. What will Tsu think if she finds you here sleeping instead of helping with the boxes."

She groaned, flopping out of the car into Izuku, forcing him to catch her. "Uuuugh, fine. At least I can go back to sleep once we're done."

Izuku looked down at the blonde with a bemused look. "Himiko, it's almost noon."

Himiko pushed off of him, standing and walking around to the trunk of the car. She proceeded to pull out the fluffiest wolf plushie Izuku had ever seen.

"Yeah, and it's time for my noon nap." She muttered her complaint into the plush wolf, burying her face in its side.

Izuku just shook his head in exasperation. He stepped around the car to grab several boxes out of the back seat. He tucked one under his left arm, hefting two others into the air with his right.

"Come on Himiko, hopefully the rooms are already assigned."

Himiko pulled her face from the plush, an excited grin on her face. "Maybe we get to pick our rooms! Maybe the three of us can get rooms next to each other!"

Inko watched on as the two continue to talk about what it may be like to live in the dorms, and about what their classmates might be like. She felt tears come to her eyes as her son got closer to the doors.

"Oh, my Izuku is growing up…" She sniffled, quickly wiping her eyes.

Her baby boy was about to make the first step into the next chapter of his life.

She just hoped he remembered to visit from time to time.

As Izuku and Himiko walked into the dorm, they were surprised to see that only two other people were inside. In the nearby kitchen a man with dual-colored hair of red and white sat at a table, seemingly eating a bowl of noodles.

On the wall opposite the front doors sat a desk with keys hanging on a board behind it. Behind the desk sat a familiar blue haired man. Izuku paused, blinking in recognition.

The man stiffly stood from the chair behind the desk. "Welcome to the UAU Heights Alliance dorms! If you would please step forward and provide your names, I will provide you with your assigned dorm room keys!"

He paused, adjusting the glasses on his face before letting out a surprised "Ah!'

He quickly walked out from behind the desk and towards the Izuku and Himiko. He stopped before Izuku, executing a perfect 90 degree bow. "I want to apologize to you for my behavior during the exam!"

Izuku blinked owlishly at the man. "Your…behavior?"

The glasses wearing man stood straight, arms straight at his sides.

"Yes! While I was admonishing you for being unheroic, you had already figured out he secret scoring system for the exam!"

Himiko glared at the man from behind her stuffed wolfie. "The hell are you talking about? It's too early for you to be this loud."

"It is most certainly not early! By noon, most of the day is already over!" The man chopped a hand robotically towards the blonde girl. "Regardless! While the rest of us were focusing on getting villain points, you had already figured out about the rescue points! Why else would you do something as reckless as attacking the Zero Pointer?"

Izuku shook his head in exasperation.

"I didn't know about the rescue points."

The blue haired man's chopping motion stopped. He stared at Izuku, confused.

"I didn't save her for points. I saw she needed help, and my body just moved before I could really think about it. I had no idea at the time that she really was in danger or that I would get points from it." Izuku shrugged.

The man took a moment to process the information, before he bowed again.

"Then you are an even better hero than I! I will endeavor towards becoming the kind of hero that can live up to your standards in the hope that we may help each other become better heroes!"

He stood straight again, raising a hand towards the greenette.

"I am Tenya Iida, from Soumei High School, it is a pleasure to meet you!"

Izuku looked at the raised hand, then to the boxes he was carrying. He shrugged apologetically before introducing himself. "Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you. Sorry I can't shake your hand, but mine are a bit full."

He looked towards his friend standing nearby expectantly. She met his gaze before rolling her eyes.

"Himiko. I'm not shaking your hand. You are so not cute."

The man flinched back as if struck. Before he could respond she continued.

"Can we get our keys now?"

The man straightened, reacting as if her harsh words had no effect on him. "Of course! Come, they are right over here. Please keep in mind that men and women will be on opposite sides of the dorms and that men will not be allowed in the women's side after hours and vice versa. This is not some university where illicit fraternization will be abound! We are here to be heroes!"

Himiko growled at the man, her irritation rising.

"Also! We will be having a gathering in the common area around dinner where we will introduce ourselves to our fellow classmates. I have already informed those who have arrived before you."

Izuku was just about to thank him when a he felt something wet and sticky 'plap' into the side of his face. He looked to the side, a smile growing on his face.

Tsuyu stepped towards them, having just walked through the front doors.

"Tsu, you're here!"

Behind him, Iida started chopping his hand in admonishment. "I will insist you stop that at once! That is quite rude, and to do so inside of these halls is unbecoming of potential heroes!"

Izuku shrugged a shoulder to wave him off.

"It's fine, Iida, she's a friend. This is just a thing she does."

"I only do it for you, ribbit."

After helping Izuku and Himiko unpack their things, the three of them went down to the common area to grab a snack to eat. The young man with white and red hair was still seated at the dining table, seemingly just finishing his meal.

Izuku put up a hand in greeting as they walked into the kitchen. "Hi, I'm Izuku Midoriya. It looks like we'll be dorm and classmates for the next few years."

The man looked up at Izuku, an apathetic look on his face. It slightly unnerved Izuku. It was like staring into the face of a statue.

"Shoto Todoroki."

"H-huh?!" Izuku was so focused on his expression that he was startled.

"My name. It's Shoto Todoroki."

"O-oh, well it's good to meet you, Todoroki!"

"Mm." The white and red haired men turned back to his bowl of noodles.

The awkward silence that followed held Izuku in place, idly tapping a finger against his side.

Before he could open his mouth to try and clear the awkward air, Himiko called out to him.

"Izu-kins, come on! I'm hungry and you know how to mix my favorite treat into the food you make really well."

"Ah! Well, I better go help them out. It was good meeting you Todoroki!"

"Mm."

Izuku joined his two friends in the kitchen. As they got started on making lunch, Izuku decided to make extra, just in case anyone else who recently got to the dorm was hungry.

They were just finishing up the final touches when Izuku heard a familiar voice.

"Wow, something smells amazing!"

He looked towards the entrance of the kitchen to see a familiar bob of brown hair peeking in. Behind her trailed boxes floating in the air, tied together with rope to keep them from flying off.

"Oh, it's you!" Izuku wiped his hands on the apron he was wearing. He also wore a bandana over his head to keep any hair from falling into the food he was preparing.

The brunette's eyes widened in recognition. "Oh, hey!"

She walked into the kitchen, her line of boxes trailing behind her.

Izuku smiled as he finished washing his hands. "I'm glad to see you're ok. I didn't get the chance to check before I passed out. I kind of overdid it."

The woman shivered as she recalled the incident at the entrance exam. "Y-yeah, that was…"

"Not a pretty sight I take it. I was told I was in really bad condition by the time Recovery Girl got to me…"

Izuku watched as she shook her head, possibly trying to clear her thoughts. She brought her hands up to lightly smack her cheeks. "I'm sorry you had to go so far just to help me…"

Izuku shook his head in the negative, waving a hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it. I saw you needed help and did what I felt was necessary. If I could go back and redo it, I still would have saved you. I couldn't just leave you there."

The blush marks on her cheeks seemed to darken from a bright pink to a darker red. Izuku smiled again, raising a hand out to her.

"I should introduce myself, I'm Izuku Midoriya."

The woman nervously raised her own hand, gripping his. "Ochako Uraraka."

Izuku watched as she pulled her hand away, bringing her other up and tapping the pads of her fingers together. Her gaze seemed find anywhere other than him as she shuffled from foot to foot.

"W-well, I should go. G-got to get my dorm room and unpack."

"Right! Don't let me take up more of your time. If you haven't seen him yet, Iida, the blue haired guy with glasses, is sitting at the desk between the elevators handing out the dorm keys. Just give him your name and he should get you sorted out. If you're hungry, feel free to come back down here when you're done. We're making extras for our other classmates!"

Ochako seemed about to reject, before a loud grumbling erupted from her stomach. The red of her blush marks spread across her cheeks as their gazes met. "I-I might just take you up on that. W-well I'm gonna go. Go unpack…"

"Alright, well let us know if you need any help. My friends are also on the Women's side, so they should be able to provide any assistance if you need it."

"N-no! I'm good. Wouldn't want to be a bother…" While her gaze slid to the ground, her shoulders squared up mulishly.

He didn't push.

"Alright, well, I'm glad to see you made it into the class and look forward to working with you for the next few years. I knew you could do it!"

He watched as Ochako scurried away, and he turned back to his two best friends to help them set the table.

He froze as he met their gazes. While Himiko had her cheeks puffed up in a pout, Tsuyu's expression was far harder to read, even for him. He hadn't struggled to read her this hard since they were little kids.

"Just got into the dorms, and already flirting with other girls, ribbit."

"W-what?! Tsu, no, it's nothing like that! I was just catching up with her since we were in the same exam site!" Izuku waved his arms back and forth, as if he was fighting off the accusation.

He continued to worry about his friend's reactions as they quietly set up the dining table.

"…When did Todoroki leave?"

Soon after they sat down to eat, several people joined them, having finished unpacking their own rooms and looking to grab a snack.

One person, a woman with pink skin and hair was loudly singing the trio's praises over the food. She had a pair of short, curly horns growing out of her fluffy hair. Her eyes were black where white sclera usually resided, and her irises were golden in color.

"Are you sure it's ok for us to try this? This some of the best food I've ever had! I can't imagine how much effort went into this." She spoke with her mouth half-full, unwilling to slow down in her eating.

Izuku smiled as he swallowed his bite of Katsudon. "Yeah, it's fine. We made plenty, so we could share with the rest of the class. As to the effort it took, it really wasn't much. Himiko and I have been helping my mom cook for a few years, so we just picked up a few tricks is all."

To his left and right sat Tsuyu and Himiko, both enjoying their meals. Himiko's had a splash of red mixed in, courtesy of Izuku.

The pink haired woman sat across from them. Next to her was a floating set of clothes, happily digging into her own plate of food. Aside from what she was wearing, she appeared entirely invisible.

"Picked up a few tricks?! I've been to expensive restaurants that don't even come close to this!"

Izuku turned to the speaker. He had blonde hair styled back with jagged streaks of black running along the sides of his head that looked similar to electricity.

Near him sat a black haired young man with oddly shaped elbows. "Seriously, man. This is really good."

Izuku scratched the back of his head. "I'm glad you all think so. It's not like I did all the work. Tsu and Himiko worked just as hard on it!"

"Don't be so humble, ribbit. Most of what we did was busy work. Preparing ingredients and all that." Tsuyu said.

"Yeah Izu-kins! You did all the cooking. If we helped with that part, it wouldn't have been nearly as good. Your nose makes it so much easier for you." Himiko was eating almost as messily as the pink haired woman.

She still shoveled the food into her mouth.

"W-well, sure, it makes it easier to smell how well the herbs and spices are mixing in, but it's not like it's something only I can do…"

"The humility… IT'S SO MANLY!" A man with wildly spiky red hair shouted. He had a large grin on his face that revealed a set of incredibly sharp teeth.

"I'm not sure I could beat you, if your baking skills are anything like this stuff." A surprisingly muscular man with black hair spoke.

Around them sat a few more people. Instead of ranting over how good the food was, they focused on devouring the food.

A short woman with dark purple hair, what looked like headphone jacks extending from her ears.

A blond man with what looked like a tail capped by a poof of blond hair or fur.

A wide man with a head that looked like it was made of rock. He quietly shared his food with a small white rabbit.

Sitting at an end of the table by himself was a man with the head of a bird. Every once in a while, Izuku could swear he saw something shifting near the hems of his shirt.

Sitting near the trio of friends sat Uraraka. She dug into her food like it would be the last meal she ever had.

Another man with multiple arms had grabbed a plate of food, leaving to eat his food in his room. Izuku wondered if that had something to do with the mask he wore over his mouth.

"Man, that was so good~" The pink skinned woman said. She leaned back in her chair, her hands laid over her stomach.

Izuku beamed as he started grabbing dishes from the table, bringing them to the sink, where Tsuyu and Himiko were working together to clean up the dirty plates.

"I'm glad you liked it!"

"Are you sure you don't want any help? It doesn't seem fair that you're the one cleaning after making all of this" The large muscular man said, a hint of guilt clear in his tone.

Izuku waved him off. "Nah, it's no biggie. The three of us do this all the time. I'm just glad we had some extra folks to eat with."

"What's with that, 'The three of us do this all the time'?" The blond haired man leaned back in his chair, his head resting into the palms of his hands. "You three know each other before coming here?"

"Yeah, we've been friends for a while. I met Tsu when we were kids and met Himiko a few years ago."

Izuku's eyes seemed to fog over as he remembered meeting them. They abruptly widened in realization.

"Ah, where are my manners! We've been eating this whole time, and I haven't introduced myself. I'm Izuku Midoriya!"

The blond man pull a hand from behind his head and waved. "I'm Denki Kaminari. Man~ It's too bad those two are taken-

"T-taken?"

"I really would have loved to- GAH!"

Izuku watched what looked like a headphone jack retract from Kaminari's side. He trailed it's retreat back to the short purple haired woman.

"Don't spout of stupid shit like that, idiot!" The woman raised a hand, acting for all the world as if she hadn't just jabbed Kaminari in the side. "Kyouka Jirou, sup."

"Yeah! That was so rude." The invisible woman crossed her arms at the blond man.

The only reason Izuku could tell, was that the sleeves of her shirt wrapped around each other. She quickly unwrapped them and started to wave them back and forth, the bangles on her wrists clattering together. "Hi hi~! I'm Tooru Hagakure!"

"The bangles are probably there to draw attention to her. Likely because her being invisible makes it hard for her to be noticed. I wonder what type of invisibility she has. Can she turn it off? Is she refracting light? If so, how can she see if it's passing through or around her instead of-"

"U-um…"

"Oh, crap! Was I muttering? I am so sorry; I have a bad habit of doing that when my mind starts running to fast.." Izuku rapidly bowed in apology to the invisible woman. "I know it can be a little freaky."

"No, it's fine! To answer your questions; No, I can't turn it off. As to how I can see without light making contact with my skin?" The woman crossed her arms, an air pride radiating from her. "No idea!"

Izuku brought a hand up, cupping his chin. "Really? Usually invisibility quirks are emitters, so there's usually some type of trigger. Maybe there are some tests we could run?"

He pulled one of his notebooks out, to the confusion of all but two people. He started writing down notes so fast that those nearby were afraid the book would catch of fire.

"I'd be willing to help you figure your quirk out if you are willing to answer a few more questions about it!"

The unseen girl sat there in silence, unsure of how to answer. Before anything came to her-

"THAT'S SO MANLY!"

Izuku was startled from his writing, his gazing moving to the source of the loud voice.

The red-haired man had his head thrown back, like he was crying out to the heavens. He had his arms out, his forearms visibly flexing.

"M-manly…?" Izuku managed to get out.

"Yeah! The way you were able to figure that stuff out with just a glance, then offering to help her out. It's so MANLY!"

His shark-like teeth were on full display as he grinned at the green-haired man.

"I'm Eijirou Kirishima, by the way. It's nice to meet you!"

The pink haired woman giggled at his antics. "Don't mind him, he calls anything he thinks is cool 'manly'. I'm Mina Ashido, but call me Mina!"

The slim man with the strange elbows had a large smile on his face. "I'm Hanta Sero. If you need anything stuck together, I'm your man!"

Izuku looked down at the man's elbows. "A quirk that has to do with some kind of adhesive. I wonder what types it deals with. Based on the shape of his elbows, possibly tape? I wonder how it dispenses. Can it be cut or burned? Can he-"

Izuku felt something wet and sticky land on his cheek.

"Zuku, you're doing it again, ribbit." A familiar head of green hair stepped into his peripheral vision. He turned to see his friend walk up to the table. "I'm Tsuyu Asui, please call me Tsu."

He felt a pair of hands wrap around his opposite arm. "I'm Himiko!"

The man with a tail cocked his head in confusion. "Just Himiko? Do you not have a family name?"

"Not one worth remembering!"

"Ok… I'm Ojiro Mashirao. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Sato Rikido." The muscular man with large lips said. "I know I said your cooking was amazing, but I bet my baking could give you a run for your money!"

"Baking? Does that mean you make sweets? Can you make Mochi?!"

Everyone turned to the brunette woman who had seemingly been in a food coma until then. She had stood out of her chair, her hands landing on the table as she stared at the large man.

As everyone's gazes turned on her, she let out a small "eep!" before curling back into her chair, her blush marks spreading across the rest of her face.

"O-ochako Uraraka. Don't mind me, I didn't say anything!"

Izuku felt Himiko grin into his arm, a barely audible "cute~" escaping her lips.

"I-I'm Koda Koji…"

Everyone turned to the rock man. He buried his face into the side of his rabbit, clearly embarrassed.

They all turned to the last member at the table. The birdman seemed to bristle at their attention.

"I am Tokoyami Fumikage. May the villains learn to fear us as we train to become heroes." He seemed to sit up straighter, affecting an aloof aura.

Which was broken when a small being made of shadow burst from the collar of his shirt.

"What Fumi said! We're gonna beat 'em up!"

"Back, you foul creature!" The bird man grabbed the small being in a panic, before shoving it back into his shirt. He turned back to everyone else, coughing into a fist. "Do not mind him. Dark Shadow is an erratic creature of the dark. I have him contained, so he will not be a bother to anyone other than myself."

Before Izuku could get more than 4 paragraphs into his notes about the sentient quirk, he felt his arm being tugged. He looked down, to see Himiko leaning back, pulling his arm towards the common area.

"Come on Izu-kins, enough socializing. It's naptime."

"B-but I didn't even get to ask them about their quirks! And aren't we supposed to be meeting with Iida later to do introductions?"

"Don't care. Enough talk, more sleep."

Tsuyu watched Izuku follow Himiko away with a smile. That smile fell away when her instincts told her there was a predator nearby.

Turning, she was met by Mina's gaze only inches away from her own. The knowing look on the pink woman's face brought a cold sweat to her brow.

"So, Tsu…" Tsuyu looked for a path to escape, but the golden-eyed woman stood between her and the doorway. She contemplated using the walls to get away but couldn't move in time to stop what was coming.

"Are you three dating~?"

Later that night, Kaminari Denki found himself in the kitchen, looking for a glass of water.

He had trouble sleeping, nervous about their first day of class tomorrow.

He was just about to put the glass away after cleaning it, when he heard the elevator on the Men's side of the dorms open. He managed to contain the yelp that threatened to exploded from his mouth. Barely.

Out stepped the largest wolf he had ever seen. He wasn't good at math, so he wasn't sure exactly how tall it was, but he was certain that if lifted it's head up it could stare him directly in the eyes.

He watched, frozen, as the animal walked over the female side of the dorms, hit the button to call the elevator with its nose, and rode the elevator up.

Denki looked down at the glass in his hand.

"No more late night water for me!"

He promptly went back to his room, pretending he never saw anything.

The next morning, the three friends were on their way to the 1-A classroom. They were almost running late on account of Himiko refusing to wake up on time.

"Himiko, it's our first day of class. Did you have to make getting up so difficult?" Izuku sighed in exasperation.

"How am I supposed to wake up with the fluffiest puppy being my cuddle pillow." Clearly, unrepentant.

"We'll take away cuddle privileges if you make us late, ribbit." Tsuyu was annoyed. She already had to deal with "5 more minutes" from her siblings. She didn't want to deal with that now that she was in university.

"What?! No! you can't do that!" Himiko stepped in front of Tsuyu, walking backwards as she brought her hands up in front of her. "Please, I promise I won't do it again. Just don't take away my fluffy body pillow!"

"I'm not a body pillow…" Izuku covered his eyes in embarrassment, glad none of their classmates were there to hear this.

The froggy girl looked at her blond friend speculatively. "Fine, ribbit. I'll forgive you this once."

"Yay! You're the best, Tsu!" Himiko threw her hands up in the air in happiness. She started to hum a little tune as they made their way to the classroom.

"Wow, that's a huge door!" Izuku stared up at the door labeled 1-A. It had to be one of the tallest doors he had ever seen. "Maybe it's to let people with size increasing quirks through?"

Himiko threw the door open as they walked.

"Please remove your feet from the desk! It disrespects this fine school and the people who were here before us!"

"Make me, four eyes!"

Izuku walked in to see Iida chopping his arm at Bakugou, his feet crossed over each other on top of his desk.

"Man, you think yourself so important, don't ya? I bet you even went to some high and mighty private school, huh?" Bakugou smirked derisively at the glasses-wearing man.

"Private sch- ahem. I from Soumei High School. I am Tenya Iida, but you would know this if you had shown up to the scheduled meet and greet!" Iida stood proud as he announced his previous school, before continuing to chop his hand at the blond man.

"Soumei, huh? Well aren't you an elite? Guess I've got a reason to fucking crush you after all."

Izuku turned as a noise behind him caught his attention. The door opened, revealing a familiar bob of brown hair.

"Oh my gosh, barely made it…" She was panting heavily, likely from her running to make it to class on time.

He was about to greet her when he felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise. He looked past her and froze in place.

On the ground in the hallway was what looked like a giant yellow caterpillar. On one end of the mass had a man's bedraggled face poking out of an opening. He watched as the man zipped open what Izuku realized was a sleeping bag, and slurped on a pack of some kind of juice or jelly.

As they made eye contact the man grunted. "Good instincts, usually nobody notices me before I enter the classroom."

Izuku stared, wide eyed, as the man slipped out of the sleeping bag. Tucking it under one arm, he stepped into the class room.

He had long unkempt hair, framing a face covered in stubble. His eyes were bloodshot, almost as if the man hadn't slept in days.

Izuku snapped out of his daze, directing his friends to sit down at their desks.

He watched as the class settled, everyone taking their seats. "It took you 8 seconds to quiet down. We will work on removing such irrational behavior. I am Shota Aizawa, and I am your homeroom teacher."

He pulled a wrapped package from the podium at the front of the class.

"This is a gym uniform. Each of you take a set and meet me at Gym Grounds B. You have 10 minutes."

Everyone sat still in stunned silence before scrabbling for a uniform.

Izuku took his time to grab one, not wanting to get buried in the sea of classmates. As he waited, he thought about his homeroom teacher.

"What a weird way to teach. Though I supposed, UAU would have a more unique teaching style." He scrunched his brows in thought. "Why do I feel like I know him from somewhere? He seems familiar…"

Izuku ran up to the gym grounds with the rest of his class. He saw Aizawa standing there with what looked like a stop watch in his hand.

The man looked up as his students gathered around him. "9 minutes and 42 seconds. You will learn to do better."

Uraraka raised her hand. "Excuse me, sir? Aren't we supposed to be going to the opening ceremony?"

She flinched back when the man met her gaze.

"We do not have time for such frivolous activities. We have four years to make you into heroes and wasting time on ceremonies will only detract from your ability to learn. There will be a packet on your desks going over what is discussed in the ceremony to make sure you are aware of all facilities available to you during your time here. For now…"

He pulled from a nearby bag what looked like some kind of ball.

"We will be conducting a series of tests to get a baseline of your quirks. A 'Quirk Assessment Test' if you will. Softball pitch, standing long jump, 50 meter dash, etc. These were all tests you completed in your previous schools. All without the use of your quirks."

He looked towards a particular student.

"Katsuki Bakugou." After confirming he had the man's attention he continued. "You scored the highest number of villain points. Tell me, in high school how far did you get in the ball toss?"

"83 meters."

Aizawa tossed the ball to him. "Step into the circle and throw this, but use your quirk this time. Do whatever you have to do to give it your all without stepping outside of the circle."

Bakugou had a savage grin on his face as he stepped into the circle. He cocked his arm back.

Izuku's eyes widened as a thought occurred to him. "Wait!"

All eyes turned towards him. Bakugou stared daggers at him. Izuku winced at the attention.

"Does anyone here have sensitive hearing?"

They all blinked at his question.

"His quirk is very loud, and I figured anyone with sensitive ears might want hearing protection."

Eyes widened in realization. Jirou's hand rose, a slight flush to her cheeks. "My quirk gives me pretty strong hearing."

"Then I should be able to help with that."

The woman that spoke was tall, with raven black hair styled into a neat, yet spiky ponytail. She proceeded to roll a sleeve of her gym uniform up, before a sparkle of light glowed on her arm. She caught what looked to be a pair of earmuffs as it fell away from her arm.

"Here you go, these should help."

Jirou's blush increased as she took the ear muffs from the taller girl. "T-thanks…"

"Think nothing of it! As a hero in training, it is my duty to help anyone in need." The ravenette rested a hand upon her surprisingly large breast, sticking her chest out in like some sort of socialite taking pride in their work.

Izuku started writing in his notebook about what he just witnessed. He was two pages in before he heard someone say, "Where did he pull that from?"

"Don't ask, ribbit. We still haven't figured that out."

Bakugou growled in clear annoyance after everyone settled. He threw his arm back, his muscles straining as he readied his throw.

"DIE!"

The explosion he released launched the ball with such force that everyone felt the air around them get blown back.

Everyone turned their gazes to Aizawa as he watch the display he held. After a few moments, he turned it towards them, the device showing '840 meters'. He spoke.

"Before anything else, one must know what they are capable of. This is the metric we will be using to determine your potential as a hero."

"Wow, 840 meters?"

"That was awesome!"

"That looks like so much fun!"

Izuku's eyes snapped to the source of the last voice. He watched in horror as Ashido bounced up and down, a large smile on her face.

He slowly turned towards his teacher. Something in his bones told him they would all regret her words.

"Fun, you say?"

Something about the way he said it silenced the entire class. Izuku shivered as he saw the man smile. There was glee in it, yes, but it held no kindness.

"If you're just here to have fun, then you may as well leave. How about this for fun? Whoever gets last in the test will be immediately expelled from the hero course."

"W-what?! But that isn't fair!" While Izuku was happy that Uraraka spoke up against this, he could already tell it was fruitless.

She seemed to cower when Aizawa met her gaze.

"'Fair'? Natural disasters, massive accidents, casualties caused by villain attacks. Nothing in life is fair. It is our jobs as heroes to face all of this unfairness and save those we can."

He glanced over each and every one of his students.

"As a teacher at UAU, I am given a freedom to teach my class as I see fit. You will either meet our standards, or you will be removed."

The smile on the man's face turned positively cruel.

"Welcome all… to the Hero Course."
