"You gave Sienna an extra bowl of soup but didn't give the rest of us any. That's not very nice, Mrs. Cliffe," complained Emma and the two other maids beside her agreed.
"Sienna has become a little thinner since she came here which is why I gave her another bowl. Isn't she serving young Master Davian? She must stay healthy because she has a special job, otherwise, the duke wouldn't be pleased."
"If she is not in a good state to serve the young master, she should be replaced," replied Emma, looking at Sienna who sat in a chair at the corner.
Mrs. Cliffe frowned and urged Emma to come forward. "Come, come. Let me give you another bowl too!"
Unbeknownst to all the servants, Mrs. Cliffe had received a direct order from the duke to take proper care of the young master's maid. She was half-vampire, but in the presence of a pure-blooded vampire like the duke, she could only bow her head and comply with his every command. She still remembered what the duke had said.
