Chapter Five
Sofia Hamilton's eyes sparkled as she laughed, her cheeks flushed. "Can you think about something wholesome for once?"
"I can't help it. Every time I see you, these thoughts just pop up. What am I supposed to do?"
He stared at her intently, his deep black eyes brimming with a warmth and indulgence that was uniquely hers, filled with an exclusive, profound affection.
The two of them exchanged smiles, and he leaned in close to her nose, tilting his head slightly as though about to kiss her.
Yet at that moment, the sound of a car came from outside.
Just as his lips were about to touch hers, the voices of children rang out from outside.
That sound was all too familiar to Sofia.
It was Lena and Wilson's voices.
She broke into a grin and exclaimed in excitement, "It sounds like they're here!"
"Who's here?"
"Of course, my little treasures."
"Your treasures? Aren't they mine as well?"
Sofia chuckled. "That depends on whether they acknowledge you."
