The little girl shrugged helplessly, looking both smug and exasperated.
Her expression amused everyone, and Charlie couldn't resist pinching her cheek. "You definitely inherited your dad's talent for narcissism."
Ryan Gregory curved his lips into a smile, walked over to his daughter, and dotingly pulled her onto his lap.
Meanwhile, Charlie grabbed the burn ointment from the medical kit, ready to treat Sofia Hamilton's wound.
He held Sofia's hand, carefully examined the injury, and lightly touched her reddened skin. "Does it hurt?"
Sofia winced and inhaled sharply, her brow furrowing. Just as she was about to answer, Ryan's displeased voice cut in. "If you press on her wound like that, how could it not hurt?"
Charlie apologized, "I just wanted to see how severe it was."
"You're a doctor. Can't you just assess it visually?"
The debate grew heated, with Ryan relentlessly pressing his point.
