Chapter Six
"Sofia Hamilton!"
Aaron Brown hurriedly grabbed her arm, stopping her from leaving.
Every time she saw him, her expression was always the same—indifferent.
It was as if she had never known him.
This made him feel utterly defeated, so much so that he could barely muster the courage to speak to her again.
Turns out, ignoring someone is the cruelest punishment.
He would rather she yell at him, hit him...
But she said nothing, her face entirely cold and detached.
"Sofia, can we talk? Please?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Brown, but I don't think we're familiar enough to sit down and talk."
She smiled, but her eyes were filled with detachment.
That detachment was like a sharp blade.
It stabbed straight into his heart, leaving him writhing in unbearable pain.
"Can you stop treating me this way? You can yell at me, hit me, even blame me, but I'm begging you—can you not be so cold? Or tell me, what do I have to do for you to give me a chance? To forgive me?"
