"Have a bite?" Brianna smiled, though her heart was silently crying, and her eyes were red.
Sofia turned her head to look at her. "Why are you here?"
"I..."
Brianna wanted to speak, but Charlie's words came to her mind: Don't agitate her.
She had to change her tone. "I happened to be in the area for some errands, came by to check on you all, and just learned about your accident. Sofia, you scared your mom half to death. Luckily, nothing serious happened to you, or I wouldn't know how to go on living."
To be able to find her daughter again in her lifetime gave her life sparkle and hope.
If anything else had happened, she surely wouldn't have been able to bear it.
Sofia held back her tears. "I'm fine."
"Then let's eat something, alright?"
"But... I have no appetite."
Brianna saw her firm attitude and could only try to coax her. "If you don't eat, and when Ryan sees you've lost weight upon his return, he'll feel heartbroken."
