Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Are You Inviting a Kiss?

"Isn't it quite obvious?"

Maxwell Peary rubbed his cheek. She really didn't pull her punches. Stealing a kiss was so unreliable!

Very obvious? Quite clear that Uncle Peary was back? Quite obvious that she had fallen asleep? Uh...

"Um... Uncle Peary... your face..."

Nia Mitchell pointed at his cheek, recalling Beatrice Swan at the engagement ceremony, and remembering how many people brandished guns as they barged into the Police Station.

Ah!!!!! This is it, so dead!

With a poker face, Maxwell Peary grabbed Nia Mitchell's left hand and looked at its red center, his lips curling into a smile.

"Does it hurt?"

"Uncle Peary..."

Was he actually concerned about her hand? She initially thought he was about to get angry.

"It's late, let's head to the Train Station."

"Uncle Peary, um... my dad isn't coming anymore. We don't need to go to the Train Station."

After saying so, she lowered her head, not caring if Maxwell Peary saw her dejection.

Not coming? Maxwell Peary narrowed his eyes. Was little Rabina Mitchell feeling upset?

"Cough..."

Having never comforted anyone before, he wasn't sure what to say and stood there awkwardly, watching her.

"Let's go on a honeymoon."

Yes, it's reasonable to go on a honeymoon after getting married. Seeing that little Rabina Mitchell was in low spirits, it might be a good idea to take her out to lighten her mood.

"Hmm?"

Nia Mitchell lifted her head. Going on a... honeymoon?

"Where would you like to go?"

Nia Mitchell stared at Maxwell Peary's appealing lips, which were moving up and down, revealing perfection everywhere.

"Hehe, the way you're looking at my lips, are you inviting a kiss?"

Inviting... inviting a kiss? Nia Mitchell immediately bristled.

"No! No way! I want to go to the beach for our honeymoon!"

She blurted out a place. Yes, the beach. Right, going to the beach is a common choice for a vacation, isn't it?

"Heh... okay."

Seeing her shyness, Maxwell Peary couldn't help but lean down towards her lips. Mmm, just as sweet as he had imagined.

Nia Mitchell's eyes widened. She was kissed again! By the time she reacted and tried to push him away, he had already let her go.

"We'll leave tomorrow morning. Take this afternoon off and rest, hmm?"

Nia Mitchell nodded. Of course! The longer she could delay, the better.

"Then I'll go pack."

Saying this, Nia Mitchell got up. Not having to talk to Maxwell Peary while looking upwards made her feel much less pressure.

As she was about to escape the awkward scene, her stomach couldn't handle it and let out a RUMBLE.

Nia Mitchell was speechless.

"Hungry?" Maxwell Peary chuckled.

"Go out for a meal or eat at home?"

Nia Mitchell thought for a bit. If they went out, it would take a lot of time going back and forth. Moreover, Maxwell Peary must be tired today.

"Let's eat at home."

"All right."

A minute later, Nia Mitchell stood in the kitchen, her face dark. Indeed, she had made the worst decision.

"Uncle Peary, I can't cook."

She covered her face in shame. What on earth was she thinking, believing that eating at home would make things easier for Maxwell Peary?

"Then why did you bounce into the kitchen? To inspect?"

Nia Mitchell was utterly flabbergasted.

Uncle Peary, are you making a lame joke? Or are you actually teasing me? Besides, was she really bouncing just now? She was clearly fleeing.

"I... I was just wandering around. I have to be somewhere, right...?" It's either here or there. Cough cough, this is so convoluted. Uncle Peary, did you even understand?

"The only dish I know how to make is Tomato and Egg Noodles."

Seeing Nia Mitchell lower her head and not speak, Maxwell Peary broke the silence.

Eating that as a midnight snack would be perfectly fine, but for lunch... Rabina Mitchell might think he was going bankrupt.

"Then we'll have noodles."

Do they have another choice?

Nia Mitchell silently lit a candle in her heart.

"Do you think I'd casually prepare noodles for just anyone?"
