Phoebe Walker truly wanted everyone to see that Nia Mitchell was pulling strings.
Even if she were to leave, she wouldn't let Mitchell work here comfortably.
"It's not that I don't trust you; it's that your answer lacks any sincerity."
Walker laughed at her, curious to see what Mitchell would do next.
Nia Mitchell slowly walked back to her seat and calmly sat down.
"Phoebe Walker, what connections did you use to get in here?"
Mitchell stared into Walker's eyes. Only those who use connections to get ahead would suspect others of doing the same.
If Walker dominates the Secretary Department, she must have powerful backing. So, she probably didn't get here through legitimate means in the first place.
"I imagine when you arrive at the Finance Department, people will surely wonder how a secretary like you suddenly got promoted to a Director role. Did you use backdoor connections? Then they'll keep guessing who your connection is."
