Annie Davidson stiffened all over, instantly frozen in place.
A flock of crows flew by, CAW, CAW, CAW, as the completely petrified Annie Davidson finally managed to turn around and regain her senses.
How can this be!
Annie forced a smile onto her face, not realizing just how fake it probably looked.
"Hmph! Finally decided to come back, did you?"
Grandpa Davidson glanced coldly at Annie, and then turned his head away, ignoring her like a grumpy child.
"Oh dear, Grandpa, I've missed you."
Annie immediately ran over, grabbing hold of her grandpa's arm.
"Grandpa, you don't know how much I've missed you while I was away. So here I am, just got off the plane."
Annie pouted, pointing towards her suitcase.
"As long as you're back. It's almost dinner time; let's have a drink tonight, just the two of us."
