She dialed three times, but the line was busy each time.
The fourth call finally went through.
"Hello, this is the finance department of Skywalk Games."
The tone of the person on the other end was sweet and polite.
With the other party being so courteous, Vera Wave naturally softened her tone.
"Hello, I'm from the administrative department. A lady just called and asked for six cups of coffee. I'm a new employee and am not clear what 'established practice' she mentioned is, so I wanted to ask."
The voice on the other end instantly sharpened. "Are you saying you haven't even bought the coffee we asked for?"
"I'm sorry, Yola and the other lady aren't in, so..."
"Enough!" The other party interrupted Vera's explanation impatiently. "One Americano, two lattes, three cappuccinos. Get them here within fifteen minutes!"
