Walking out of the ward, heading towards the elevator along the corridor, the smile on Vera Wave's face gradually faded.
"Still worried about the old house?" Nathan Leafcastle asked softly.
"Ah..." Vera snapped back to reality and gently shook her head, "Actually... I've figured it out. Even if I can get the old house back, with my current capabilities, I don't have the financial resources to maintain it."
Such a mansion requires money for cleaning and daily maintenance, not to mention the time and effort needed just for the flowers and trees in the garden.
With her current abilities, just taking care of herself and Grandma Wave is already challenging; she simply doesn't have the capacity to hire someone to manage it.
"It's okay, Vera." Nathan pressed the elevator door, letting her in first, and followed her inside, "I'll help you."
Vera smiled at him sideways, "Brother Nathan, I appreciate the gesture, but... let's just forget it."
