Vera Wave stared at the steaming hot breakfast in her hand, a look of utter surprise on her face.
She had been to this shop before. This should be the busiest time with long queues. How did he manage to buy it so quickly?
Kris Cooper smirked and started the car.
"Starting now, you should be able to finish eating by the time we reach the office."
He didn't want to explain how he had gotten the breakfast; those details weren't important. What mattered was that she could enjoy her meal properly without worrying about being late.
As the car moved forward, Vera opened the bag and began to eat.
She brought the sandwich from the bag to her lips, her mouth opening slightly. Then, she paused, turning to look at the bag in her hand. There was only one serving of breakfast inside.

"I'm not hungry. You eat."
"We'll split it."
