Grace Gresia was very receptive to Jasmine Churchill's advice, and upon hearing her words, she changed her mind.
After suffering such a blow to his pride, Charles Churchill was seething with anger and was tempted to slap Grace Gresia, but remembering that he was at the Jones' home, he forcefully held back the urge.
Grace Gresia wasn't particularly beautiful, and she had been unfaithful several times; anyone else would have divorced her by now, but maybe he really was the reincarnation of a cuckold spirit for he simply couldn't bring himself to do it.
He would hit her, he would scold her, but he would never divorce her. Over time, Grace Gresia came to realize this and grew unafraid.
"You better behave yourself. If you ruin Jasmine's prospects, I'll divorce you when we get back," he threatened.
Although Grace Gresia wasn't afraid of a divorce from Charles Churchill, she truly was concerned about damaging her daughter's opportunities, and so she kept in line.
