"Hey brat, how come I've never seen you be so nice to your aunt?" Effie said jealously as Nick carefully tended to Viola's scabbed injury.
This brat, even though she hasn't really taken care of him before, she's watched him grow up, changed his diapers, and fed him when he was little—a little ingrate, so easily won over by an outsider.
Viola was warmed by Nick's gesture, unable to resist giving his soft little body a hug, "Thank you, Nick, Mommy doesn't hurt anymore. But Nick's grown up now, so you need to walk by yourself."
"Will baby brother need to walk by himself too?"
"Of course. No matter who it is, once you can walk, you walk yourself. Mommy and Daddy walk on their own, Aunt walks on her own, Granddad, Grandma, and Great Grandma all walk on their own, right? So why should Nick be carried by others?"
