The injuries on Liu Banxia weren't severe. Apart from his hair being charred beyond recognition, there were only minor cuts on his back from shards of glass.
He simply trimmed his hair, as the burnt smell was rather unpleasant. As for the wounds on his back, a quick wipe with iodophor and some antiseptic ointment were all that was needed.
After taking care of himself, Liu Banxia headed for the operating room. He had to take responsibility for the injured firefighter.
"Doctor, is my hand beyond saving?" queried the firefighter lying on the operating table.
"Why give up so soon? You're proficient at firefighting, and I'm skilled at treating diseases. Just leave it to me, and it'll be fine, won't it? How long have you been in the brigade?" asked Liu Banxia.
"Two years," replied the young man.
"You saved all four of our lives today, so I'm going to put all my effort into saving this arm, not just your hand," Liu Banxia reassured him.
