In no time, it reached above the ankles. It looked slow, but Vika thought otherwise. If the person didn't come back, there was only one outcome for him — to become a floating corpse.

The last cry came from a newly met 'friend'. With the water flooding, the family of rats desperately wanted to find 'land', so they unceremoniously used Vika's body.

Shouting.
Yelling.
Kicking.
Threatening.
The family of rats was very persistent. Thrown away, yet they swam back. Vika was already crying, facing a hard choice whether to step on the rat family to death while the water was shallow.

When the water deepens, the rats won't be climbing on his pants but his head. By then, he would have only one skill left, which is using his mouth to bite. Whether he bites to death or drowns, he couldn't accept it.
