Everyone celebrates the New Year in their own way.
For most people in Sancha River village, it's the same old story: eat and drink and make it as lively as possible.
Of course, as life gets better, the variety of food prepared becomes more abundant. For example, now people can freely eat their homegrown mushrooms and the fruits and vegetables from their greenhouses. That's the change.
Some might think that those who grow mushrooms shouldn't be short of mushrooms to eat and might even be sick of them. But in reality, that's not the case. When they first started growing mushrooms, only after they sold what they could did they eat the leftover broken ones themselves. It's similar for those who grow greenhouse vegetables—they eat the worst of what's left, and very few households eat the best ones.
Only when life gets better can one afford to eat freely. When times are tough, making money is the top priority. Eating? Just save it to sell for money.
