Chapter 45 - Rasne’s Clever Ruse

Samir gave Asa a small amount of nosbene to ensure that he stayed asleep for a little while longer. The Prince needed to clear his head, and it would be ideal if he could bring his older brother back looking less like a ghost. He was avoiding the Queen's wrath.

"Nazmi's plan wasn't bad," Rasne admitted, his voice quiet and thoughtful. "I think there is room for modification, she was definitely on the right track."

Prince Samir hummed in agreement.

Despite their initial start toward the Grand Palace, the two had decided not to head directly there. Instead, they fled just outside of the palace's walls, barely out of the Royal Guard's range. They sat side by side inside a small anti-magic bubble Samir had created to inoculate their presence briefly. Beside them laid Asa's limp form.

"It's true," Samir said. "I think it would be ideal if we avoided mentioning her blood, that would be asking for trouble. Calling her a dark witch was a very smart idea on her part, though."
