Chapter 3 - Ch3

After reaching back, they began looking at the three basic jutsus and easily mastered them.

But Naruto was confused. The 'Naruto' in his memories took much longer to master them and to get proper chakra control, which took practically years.

Shaking his head, he decided to tell Izuna about the dream he had.

"Hey, Izuna, you got a minute." Naruto asked, looking straight at Izuna with a firm but urgent look.

Izuna took a second and looked at Naruto. He never saw Naruto with such a look on his face before.

"How long do you need?"

"About two hours."

"Alright then, follow me." Izuna said lightly.

They then walked to the room that the old man provided for them. Once they reached the room, he stared in three spots in the room. "You heard him. All three of you get out." Izuna stated while pointing in three different directions.

The anbu in hiding were surprised by Izuna statement and confused because only two of them were on this mission. They soon realized they had an additional person in here with them. Although they were surprised, they were still professionals, and they had already made the spilt second decision to capture the third one after being exposed.

Seeing as he was exposed, the third intruder tried to escape but was quickly caught by the other two. He tried to struggle free from their grasp, but it proved futile. He then suddenly stopped moving. Seeing this, the other two were about to interrogate them but realized that he was dead.

The two anbu members looked at each other before disappearing from the room.

"Now that they are gone, what did you want to talk about?" Izuna said, turning back and looking at Naruto, who was stunned by the sudden change.

Recollecting himself, he began to narrate the dream he had. How Izuna wasn't a part of it, how he failed the graduation exam and ended up stealing the forbidden scroll and learning the multi-shadow clone jutsu, how he got put on team seven, his first C-rank mission, the chunin exam, Sasuke defecting from the village, and many more experiences including his death at the hands of Sasuke during their final fight.

Izuna was there quietly listening to Naruto's story. As Naruto finished his story, Izuna sat there with one answer where these memories came from.

"Do you think you can use one of the jutsu that from your memories?" Izuna questioned Naruto with a pondering look.

"I think I could try." Naruto responded. He then began searching through his memories for a jutsu that wasn't destructive, which wasn't that hard as he practically only had Shadow Clone and Rasengan. With Shadow clone was his most used technique.

Naruto then closed his eyes and tried to remember the feeling he had when using the jutsu from his dream. He then used his hand to perform the hand signs. Suddenly, a puff of cloud appeared next to Naruto. Seeing the result of the jutsu, Naruto felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. Although he created a clone, said clone was pale and look like it was about to fall over at any moment. He thought that with the memories that he had, he could easily perform the jutsu, but it seems that he still has to practice the jutsu to master them.

Seeing this, Izuna walked up to clone and started to inspect it, looking all over it before touching it to see if it was a solid clone which cause it to blow up in a puff of smoke signaling that the techniques was dispelled.

"Although fragile, it was still a solid clone." He muttered to himself before turning to Naruto to explain his thoughts.

"It seems that someone was trying to send the future you back in time but sent you too far back in time, which basically reset your soul, causing you to lose all your previous memories. Seeing how that worked, he just copied the memories of your future self and gave them to you, hoping that you could prevent your death from happening. But, by doing so, he created a butterfly effect, which led to me being here."

'Does that mean that I was an anomaly that was not supposed to exist in the first place?' Izuna mused to himself before shaking his head. 'It doesn't matter now. I'm here, and that's all that matters now. The future isn't really important.'

Hearing this, Naruto eyes began to widen and shine. "Does this mean that mean that I can use these memories as a shortcut to be becoming Hokage?" His mind started to wonder, and he started to imagine himself as Hokage with the villagers apologizing to him and Izuna.

~~

"Lord Hokage, please forgive us for how we treated you." A villager pleaded on his knees while looking at Naruto.

With a confident and smug look, he waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry, my brother and I are generous people who won't hold a grudge."

"Thank you for your forgiveness, Lord Hokage!" A random villager began.

""Thank you for your forgiveness, Lord Hokage!"" The surrounding villagers mimicked the previous one.

Naruto then raised his hand to signifying to them to quiet now.

"As a celebration, TODAY IS NATIONAL RAMEN DAY!!" Naruto shouted, feeling in a good mode.

The crowd erupted in cheers, giving praises to Naruto.

"Long live the Hokage!!"

"Long live the Hokage!!"

"Long live the Ho"....

~~

"Naruto!" Izuna exclaimed, waking up Naruto from his daydream.

"Huh." Naruto responded. His droopy eyes that were looking out in the distance in a daze suddenly shoot open. He looked around the room quickly before his eyes landed on Izuna.

Naruto started to scratch the back of his head with a sheepish smile.

The black-haired twin could only shake his head with a wry smile. He knew that Naruto wanted to be Hokage ever since he met the old man. He could somewhat understand why, but he didn't see any real reason to actually become Hokage.

'At least he has a dream to work towards.' Izuna thought to himself. He believes that if you have a goal to work towards, you can improve faster than when you don't.

If you have no driving force, how do you expect to get far?

...

One month later.

During the past week, Naruto and Izuna have been mastering the few techniques they had. They even started with nature transformation.

Since the chakra paper only showed the highest affinity that one had and not the total affinity one had, Naruto was training wind release, while Izuna was training fire release.

Although they haven't mastered them, they are pretty close. And all this was without the usage of the shadow clone jutsu. During this time, Izuna checked if there was any method of cultivation in this world. After going through numerous books from the library (with clones and transformation jutsu), he concluded that the concept of cultivation did not exist or not accessible to regular citizens. He didn't want to try and end up damaging his body by not knowing the proper way to cultivate in this world. The only thing he could do now was to increase the quality of his soul.

...

By now, Naruto and Izuna had already moved out of the Hokage's mansion and were living in their parents' house.

It was a two-story house with a basement. The first floor had the living room, kitchen, dining a bathroom, and a small study that as stairs that lead into the basement. The basement was big, and it was like mini training ground where Minato comes by to practice jutsu and development seals.

The second floor has three bedrooms (the main, one with cribs and other decorations that would signify that it was the baby room, and a guest room) and two bathrooms (one in the main bedroom).

During the time they spent here, Izuna spent some time looking through the study he couldn't help but admit that his father was a genius. He already developed a flying thunder god ver3 and was working on a ver4.

Version 3 was to set up a barrier where he could teleport anywhere within it, and he would be able to sense that stepped in that barrier.

The concept of version 4 was the ability to teleport without the use of sealing art. It was mostly incomplete and was only theory at this point.

One theory was to increase your spatial affinity by the repeated usage of the previous three versions. The second was that it was impossible to teleport without the use of a marker, so find a way to mark without touching.

'I might need to start learning sealing art.' Izuna thought to himself.
