Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

This time, all attention were trained on the red haired man who leaned on a stone pillar directly opposite the burgundy table with his leg propped up on it for support. His hands were tucked in his black, glittery pants pocket and his head hung down like he was saying a prayer, his red locks forming a shadow and a blanket on his forehead but that didn't stop his ear from picking up dancing throats and fresh warm blood gurgling like falling waterfall hitting the plunge pool below.

Everything about him screamed 'PERFECTION', a piece of art trampled and stroked by artists from different eras and bloodline but the most alluring was when he walked in through the double doors and how his hair glittered when he walked under the chandelier that emanated soft golden hues and how his grey eyes burned, the grey acting as smoke and the golden hue from the chandelier acted as fire. They were all entranced, eyes following his every step until he took a statue-like position against the stone wall. Lady Genesis squirmed in her seat with her knees pressed together, her breath came out in pants as her conflicted gaze and flushed cheeks moved between George and the red haired who's name they were yet to know and eyes were closed. Not even the big mouthed Marlon could say anything because of the seductive and terrifying air around him.

Who is he?. Unanswered questions flowed through closed mouths into the air.

With George in the room, it was like putting fire and an iceberg against each other. Autumn was tired and she wanted nothing more than to leave this damn room with a lot of drama going on.

"I never knew Nobles of lower ranks could bark at Nobles at higher ranks". He spoke, voice clear but loud like rumbling thunder. His statement was directed to Marlon because of what he said earlier but the slow witted mutt didn't understand what the red haired was trying to say. He was stuck, couldn't take his eyes off the red haired especially with the position he took. Landmark's fiery grey eyes stared directly at Marlon and his sinful lips pulled up a bit at the side.

"You've been too lenient with them". His seductive gaze moved slowly to lock with George's. "That's not how you were". After saying that, he met Lady Genesis's wide eyes, noticing her short breaths and heaving chest; his eyes followed the movement of her rising and falling chest, ears perked up, listening to her hitched heartbeat and pulsing warm blood that flowed through her delicate, long golden neck and his gum itched, canines elongating slowly. Landmark could feel the color of his eyes changing and he closed his eyes again and hung his head low to calm his raging beast. The black ring on his left pinky finger glowed slowly and dimly. Lady Genesis gasped quietly, fingers clenched into fist; she didn't and couldn't understand anything again. She had been infatuated with George since the first day she set her eyes on him but now when she locked gazes with the red haired, she felt different and warm.

No one except George noticed the shift between the two. However, he was proficient enough to cover up.

"The story gets old and boring". George replied, beckoning and waving a yawning Autumn forward. As naive as she was, stupidity wasn't part of her name; she noticed the black ring embellished and adorned with little red rubies cut meticulously into crystal- like shapes. She wasn't a lapidarian, gemmologist or a jeweler but she knew a lot about jewels because her once rich father had showered her mother rotten with jewelries and glittery ornaments. However, she could bet two gold coin bags- which she didn't have, that she had never seen anything like what George wore on his index finger. It was beautiful, no beautiful was not the right word to use; it was entrancing and eye catching, not something that could be missed at first glance. It glittered like different jewels put into one piece and captivated like precious stones. for a moment, she was rooted to her position until his shiny, sleek golden brown hair moved to the side and his deep, dead grey eyes met hers; that's when the resemblance settled in and her gaze moved slowly from the red haired to George.

Could it be... Her line of thoughts trailed off and she shook her head viciously and resumed her previous position, behind George. He sighed, his dead mysterious eyes dropped close with his lips parting.

"Landmark, why are you here?". That simple sentence alone made Jaxon pass out and everyone in the room stiffen, some already seeing death dressed in black, arms stretched wide with a smile saying 'WELCOME'. Although George was terrifying, he was known for giving blunt warnings that sounded like threats before punishing but Landmark was notoriously known for killing and giving warnings to the dead corps, for others to see what he could do. Some said it was just rumor based but others spoke otherwise.

LANDMARK....!? like the notorious LANDMARK!?? Autumn almost lost her footing, was he here because of her? what she did earlier? could her day get any worse?

Nothing good ever came out of that name, 'LANDMARK'. like his name, he marked his territory, notoriously known for nothing good. Although his name travelled far and wide, not everyone has been graced to catch a glimpse of his silhouette, not even his face. So him being here only meant one thing, TROUBLE.

While Autumn was reeling on her life choices, Lady Genesis was in a realm where her half naked self tried tried to seduce the already seductive Landmark. Jaxon had been punched back to consciousness, his left cheek swollen and pink from the impact while his gum suffered a tear, tinting the inside of his mouth and giving him the feel of the thick metallic liquid flowing painfully down his throat. George and Landmark held gazes again after he had calmed his raging beast; understanding the meaning behind that look, Landmark smiled and nodded subtly for only George to see.
