Chapter 100 - Chapter 99

Desperate Rush Against Time, Part ??

664 10/11 3:06 (Autumn, Day, Midrar)

Mark carefully observed the sphere floating in mid-air before him, bright white lightning being fueled by his own Vital Mana and forming a tight coating around his body.

He sighed in deeply a couple of times longer before rising his remaining hand at the same height as his heart, preparing to use a very special Spell available only to those that were a Vessel for an interplanar Entity with enough trust shared between the two. "[Avatar Manifestation]!"

The electricity intensified further, mixing more deeply with his Vital Mana before it completely engulfed him, hiding his presence underneath the power he was currently holding, his body overwhelmed by the light before his body reappeared, much different.

His hairs were now much longer, made entirely by luminiscient light while his eyes now were a glowing yellow from which strands of Shining Bolts emanated violently yet the most evident changes were the serene expression on his face, the glowing yellow tattoos now covering his skin and especially a new arm made entirely of solidified white lightning that flickered violently.

As he breathed out, sparks flared in between his lips, his eyes immediately focusing on the sphere within which Luna was preparing, barely able to glimpse Joule's body starting to glow once more hidden as they were in between the shockwave constantly emanating by the mass of highly condensed Energy pulsing in midair.

As the pulses accelerated, their pattern vaguely resembling an heartbeat, waves of force rained down upon the ground, creating an ever-growing smooth crater underneath it.

Mark, or more precisely the combination of Mark and Joules merged in a single existence, activated their Unique Skill Time Walker for a couple of secodns to give themselves more time to plan out their fight, taking advantage of the fact that their enemy was at the moment unable to intervene.

Joule-Mark's Shining Bolts concentrated, forming almost solid claw-like armaments around their only remaining fist, white lightning glowing brightly as their now shirtless body pulsed and twitched because of the erratic electricity moving around and within their body's muscles, his attention focused entirely on the black orb of light that by this point seemed to almost be ready to explode.

The orb soon after stilled completely, opening wide like a flower in bloom to reveal the Lunarian in a much different form than she was before.

Her body was now made entirely out of solidified Black Blood, thanks to her C-Rank Authority not only rendering her much more able defensively but also allowing her to use Divine Power on her own body, while at the same time using her Iridescent Blood's effect to look more like her previous self, revealing even more of her changes now that she could be properly seen beyond just being a chaotic mass of highly acidic fluid.

Her body was clad in a long black floating robe, nothing particularly complicated as Luna had little experience or interest in clothes themselves, with her forearms and forelegs completely covered in a dense and ferocious layer of black Energy.

Their attention was quickly taken towards the two, around two meters wide each, feathered wings emerging from the Lunarian's waist, black feathers progressively leightening into a rainbow of colors that guided their eyes upwards to the four long black limbs emerging from her back and covered in chitinous layers, a thick white fur emerging from between the plates shaped like spikes.

And the reason they described them as limbs instead of tails, tentacles or any other term was because of their endings, each of them presenting five long and sharp fingers, white fur surrounding its wrist-equivalent, long and wickedly sharp horns emerging from the white mane, iridescent gems on the palms of the four hands, with a small, armored tail ending in a very brutal blade swinging behind her freely.

Continuing on looking upwards, Joule-Mark was able to easily identify little changes in the white-haired one's body itself beyond just the additions, additions that continued on to the tips of her hairs being enveloped in black flames, wild hair from which a pair of wicked horns arose, aiming towards the sky and more specifically towards the most noticeable change involved in her sudden transformation.

A great orb, two meters in diameter and looking almost like a sphere of black glass with a bright light in its center, that floated above her head hummed slightly while at the same time remaining perfectly still and stable, something that they were only able to interpret thanks to the combination of Mark's memories of his previous Regressions and their own innate understanding of the Laws of the World.

"That sphere - " They calmly explained, being careful of talking outloud to both share the information with the rest of their Human-self's Party and so that he could more easily retain the information in the future. "- is a combination of solid shadow, Mana, Vital Energy, blood and Aura, functioning as a reactor to generate Energy for your use with a core of Orichalcum."

Luna grinned madly, crossing her more natural-looking arms underneath her bust before the other four hands pointed towards the Human-Spirit Hybrid, Joule-Mark's attention quickly being able to identify a further change, a black mist slowly rising from around her body and condensing into nine completely solid disks floating around her body, pointing towards them and looking almost like a group of lens.

Five of them were fully solid, presenting complex Runes and Joule-Mark was easily able to guess they were each based on one of the Elemental Attributes, those that without a doubt they were certain the red-eyed one had by this point fully understood while the surface of the other four was slowly becoming more and more clear, an obvious sign that she was progressively growing accustomed to the other Attributes.

The Human-Spirit Hybrid had barely any time to widen their eyes before they found themselves having to launch themselves away from their previous locations as a rain of crimson lightning, more specifically made by the Altered Attribute between the Lightning-Attribute and blood, fell upon them and bore its way right through the ground, creating various explosions that sent dust flying all over their battlefield.

Shining Bolts formed briefly a pair of wings around their shoulders and ankles, accelerating their movement vastly and in this way gaining enough distance to be able to correctly interpret the way that the abomination against nature was launching her attacks.

The sphere floating above Luna emitted a wave of power in a manner that Mark's memories would be able to compare to a solar storm, power that slammed against the Lunarian's horns and was immediately drunk in, being Channeled through her entire body and then being discharged through one of her additional limbs, passing through one of the Magic Circles to change its nature to become a Lightning-Attribute strike.

Thing that they were quickly able to confirm thanks to Luna using the same method to launch a wave of Blank Flames towards their body, aiming not a precise or highly condensed beam, but instead an overwhelming wave aiming on strike as large an area as possible to take advantage of the proprieties of that Altered Attribute.

Joule-Mark hurriedly launched themselves away, a blur of electric being left behind their body as they left the radius of the grey flames, their eyes meeting with the analytic gaze of the Vampiric entity. "The Magic Circles function like a series of colored lens, applying an Attribute to the power that passes through them!"

"I suppose that is a correct enough metaphor." Luna confirmed casually, rapidly crossing the distance between the two with a kick that cratered the earth around her foot, various trees being shattered completely by the shockwave alone. "Yet this is not enough." She affirmed, her voice sharp and cold.

The orb above Luna shivered briefly before twisting in on itself, starting to implode and creating a very powerfull sucking force that attracted the grey flames currently behind her into it, devouring them rapidly and leading the glow within it to intensify, a spectable that remided them vaguely of a black hole.

Luna swung an hand hard, the black energy sharpening into claws and sending a rending gale to try and bisect the Human-Spirit combination, this last one only being saved by the heightened reflexes derived by the constant electricity flowing within their body.

The one currently enveloped in Shining Bolts responded by calling down a lightning strike on his own location, forcing Luna to retreat briefly and buying themselves a second to plan while their coating deflected the electricity away from their body.

Luna however did not launch herself back, instead calculating the amount of power contained within her sphere to have reached the desired quantity and quality if one were to consider the Blank Flames that it just absorbed and those previously within her own body, those last ones erupting from her horns to being absorbed by the orb, being rapidly compressed and crushed down to grow the hyperdense Core at its center, grevious internal burns the only sign of its previous existence.

The nine rings floating around Luna shivered before changing further, acquiring visible patterns linking to which Attribute they were related to, aiming on eliminating a flaw that she was able to find out thanks to their previous engamente, the inability to use Composite Attributes through her focusing lens.

Inability that she now was able to calculate a way around.
