Chapter 119 - Chapter 113

664 10/11 7:01 (Autumn, Day, Midrar)

The three remaining D-Rank bird Monster screeched, wind blades carving lines upon their stone feathers, their attitude falling briefly before their Miasma and Vital Energy repaired their hurt parts in time for them to return in flight, thing greatly helped by their use of Mana to enhance their LightenedBody to reduce the strain of flying even further.

The falling Vision twisted in mid-air, wind solidifying in its left hand as a long thrusting sword that rapidly flashed towards the only remaining E-Rank Monster multiple times, various holes forming all across its body before it swung down, cutting it in two.

Vision landed on one of the parts before using it as a stepping stone to launch itself towards another one of its preys, the chain-like pattern around its wrists started to squirm like living snakes and grabbing onto its target, pulling itself towards it with a spin kick to its beak with feet wrapped in a metallic coating.

An heavy slam filled the air, the Stonehearted Raptor screeching once more in pain, the chains releasing it and then twisting into long bladed whips, falling upon the Monster and scraping long lines into its flesh, thing certainly helped by the layer of sharp wind that surrounded the whip, increasing its sharpness even beyond its previous state.

The newly-added weight and wounds led the D-Ranked one to precipitate right through multiple branches, the Familiar using it as a shield, landing precisely before the ready and immense frame of Warden.

The Earth-Attribute Familiar struck immediately, landing on its wings to trap it in place thanks to its increased weight before a large maw opened wide, a large spike of highly-dense minerals condensing within it that shot down, crushing and shattering its chest apart in an instant.

Above the battle did not stop at all, Ash and Blitz harassing the two remaining birds of prey, distracting them from Core currently flying high above, subtly accumulating Mana and Vital Energy alike from the atmosphere around, condensing within its maw in a pulsing mass of Vital Mana.

Floating stones orbited at high speed around one of the birds, interposing between it and the various tongues of fire launched by Ash, air whipping forward from the Monster to force the Familiar back before it flew forward with sharp claws aiming on impaling the Fire-Attribute one.

Flames exploded, forming a smokescreen to cover the Familiar just in time for the raptor to pass right through them, squawking in disbelief at seeing no trace of its prey, looking around in confusion and in so doing missing the flaming one's sudden attack from beneath, an almost solid mass of flames crashing into the Monster with an explosion.

Nearby Blitz was repeatedly sending lightning bolt after lightning bolt at its own target, twisting their trajectories using its Magnetic Amplification to try and dodge the Air- and Earth-Attributes one's defenses, consisting mainly of a great quantity of dust that concentrated in the way of its strikes to ground and disperse the electricity.

Yet even so more and more of its dust was blown apart under the heat of the shocks, costing it more and more Mana and forcing it to remain in place, thing that inadvertently caused it to miss its only remaining flockmate being violently hurled at its back through its shield.

The Stonehearted Raptor turned back at the new force that slammed into it, just in time to see a wave of fire try and envelop the two of them, forcing a great boulder to manifest around them both to shield the two from the flames.

Yet they had no respite as immediately after a thunderbolt fell ruinously upon the rocky exterior, shattering it apart in its upper part and opening the two of them up for Core's attack.

A large beam of Energy fell upon the two Monsters immediately after, sending them crashing into the ground as the Familiar roared victoriously up above, looking down upon them and starting to ammass even more Energy within its opened maw.

One of the two Stonehearted Raptors recovered faster, rising on its feet and beating its wings once, wind picking up rocky shrapnels and sending them towards the nearing Vision, trying to buy itself some time.

Yet Warden moved in front, shielding the other Familiar from the stones without flinching nor stopping its momentum at all, its immense weight allowing it to march right through the hail of projectiles, its great bulk more than able to protect Vision while he forced its way through.

As the bird that didn't attack previously launched itself to the sky, the Earth-Attribute Familiar stomping down and causing an elongated stone to fly upwards, Vision using the other Familiar as a stepping stone to launch itself after the makeshift spear.

Wind grinded the edges of the weapon, forming a much sharper and more effective version before it was thrown at full force, air shaking as the spear impaled the raptor that was still in the ground in place, leaving it free for Warden to kill it.

The mid-flight one lived barely longer than its companion as high above in the sky Blitz and Ash started to fly around Core, long strings of flames and electricity accumulating within this last one's mouth, intensifying ever more before erupting in a beam of plasma that washed over the last remaining Monster, ending its life and adding even more Magicules to Luna's reserves.

Said Lunarian, back in her clearing, nodded casually, judging the increase in her Astral Ichor, her eyes gleaming sharply. "My other Familiars were able to demonstrate their power quite effectively yet you have no offensive or support Skills, only a defensive one." Luna noted to her nearby Familiar, Spirit.

"And so what are you doing to do about it?" Mafel asked as all of the Familiars returned to within their Artifacts.

"Simple, really. We are doing to hunt down some rogue Undeads to add their Skills to my repertoire. Well, after Sabel fully recovers and wakes up at least." An amused tone filled the Lunarian's last phrase.

"Oh? So Amber already woke up then?" Mafel.

"A little bit after you tried to sneak away. Please do not become a thief, you are not very good at it." The white-haired one teased, her red eyes focused on her now suddenly looking away Mate.

"Easy for you to say. We aren't all able to just split ourselves in two." Mafel protested, her pale lips turning down in a pout.

Luna smiled, turning around into her Mate's arms to look at her with her own eyes, her pale arms encircling the grey-haired one and pulling her in for a brief kiss. "Let's go, we are done here."

Luna rose to her feet in an instant, the Elf held safely within her arms, as she moved back to their temporary base, joining the perfect reproduction of Luna made by a liquid similar to mercury, if one didn't consider its very slight glow, gently holding the sleeping Sabel and the falsely sleeping Amber on her shoulders.

The red-eyed one lost all color in an instant, becoming she too a mass of Astral ichor, gently posing Mafel down before joining the other mass, seamlessly returning to a single whole embracing two of her Mates and inviting the third to join them again.

Invite that was rapidly accepted, the Elf immediately rushed forward to pose her head on the Lunarian's chest, enjoying her body while at the same time embracing both Sabel and Amber, her fingers subtly poking the Phoenix' side, taking advantage of the fact that she was pretending to sleep and that their Human was actually sleeping, to tease her relentlessly.

? (Inside Luna)

Luna's attention moved rapidly, following the traces of the call in an instant as her Soul stretched all around her, stopping just a single step away from the Moon, where her Familiars would be held.

More specifically, one of the two isolated pockets of space containing not her Familiars but an Existence, more specifically a wayward Soul brimming with intense emotivity.

Luna assumed full physical form, her new eyes immediately moving towards the one that tried to get her attention, ignoring the chill that tried to envelop her.

"So, what exactly do you want, Aurora?" She asked, one of her eyebrows raised, her Will pressing down on the two of them.
