"Snowball, baby..." She cooed softly, reaching out to stroke the kitten's fur. He looked up at her with wide blue eyes, purring faintly. "It's alright...Mommy isn't going anywhere, okay?" She continued, petting his head gently. "I promise."
The little white kitty snuggled closer, burying his face in her lap. His tiny paws kneaded at her legs, and she giggled softly, stroking his back.
"Aw...my little cutie. Yes, Mommy loves you lots~" She rubbed his ears gently, and he purred louder, closing his eyes and leaning into her touch.
She leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head, inhaling deeply.
The sweet scent of his fur filled her nose, and she sighed, a rush of calm flowing through her. She leaned back on the couch, relaxing against the cushions.
Phoenix and Snowball were tag teaming her her about this.
Snowball dialed up his performance to at least 15 out of 10, as if she were a terrible mother for daring to go out into the rain without him.
