Omniscient P.O.V.
Cocking his brow in surprise, the younger man wondered.
"Isn't it too quick? What about all those preparations you mentioned previously?"
Glancing at Pietr's face for a brief moment, Maksim retorted.
"Time waits for no one, and I've already used much of my own waiting for this opportunity. Keep in mind that when I say a thousand years to prepare, it's still merely a speculation on my part. So, to lower the chances of mishaps happening, it's best I leave as soon as possible."
Pausing for a second, he then added.
"About your second question, a message will suffice. Staying longer would serve no purpose."
As those last few words left his lips, the two sensed a surging fluctuation coming from the Surface Void layer.
To be more specific, it originated from that coalescing Lotus floating above the Fairy Dust Shop, its surroundings now empty from the previous spectating crowd.
Only those Void Seed Protectors were still present outside the shop, not bothering to waste their energy on hiding their presence.
Some were taking Healing Pills, others were chatting together about the previous attack and its young target.
However, what caught the attention of the two Void Sapling Elders was not those people, but rather the fact that the Lotus Phenomenon had finally fully appeared, its size so large that it overshadowed multiple neighborhoods surrounding the shop itself.
With an expectant look on his face, Maksim remarked.
"It seems like the lad's breakthrough is about to end."
Letting out a sigh, he added.
"Who knew the Federation I founded all those years ago would see the birth of a true Immortal Seed... Fate is really mysterious..."
Although Pietr noticed the complicated emotions in the other man's tone, hinting at a past story, he did not mention it, instead saying.
"Immortal Seeds... So mysterious..."
Shaking his head slightly, Maksim corrected.
"They're only mysterious for those from weaker Forces like ours. For those Tier 6 Transcendent Powers, Immortal seeds, though still extremely rare, still appear every few million years. Of course, most of those I heard of are those Low Grade Immortal Seeds with only one Heavenly Phenomenon, like the young Mikhailov below. As for those with two or three Heavenly Phenomena, respectively Mid and High Grade Immortal Seeds, I only know that their existence should be theoretically possible, but I've never heard of any appearing in the Main Continent or the Archipelagos surrounding it."
With a pondering expression, he added.
"Of course, my knowledge is ultimately limited, so it's not impossible that some did appear in the distant past..."
Hearing the man's explanation, Pietr truly realized the difference between cultivators coming from Tier 6 Forces and others.
It was not only a question of combat strength, but even the knowledge one had access to was worlds apart.
That being said, the same could be said for those from Tier 5 Forces when compared to those cultivators from weaker Forces.
It was truly an unending cycle.
With a pondering tone, Pietr mumbled.
"So there are different Grades even among those Immortal Seeds...I'm assuming their achievement would also differ?"
Nodding lightly as Maksim's eyes reflected the tri-color Nine-Petaled Lotus below, he then replied.
"The information on them is too extensive, but suffice to say that the poorest talent of Immortal Seed, as long as enough cultivation resources were provided, would be guaranteed to reach the First Level Transcending Tribulation Rank, and even going beyond that level was likely, although it would still involve some challenges. There is even a slight chance of becoming an Immortal. Low Grade immortal Seeds, for example, have around 1% chance of successfully passing the Immortal Tribulation, while Mid and High Grades should have progressively higher odds of success, but since their existence is so rare, finding the exact number is almost impossible. Besides those benefits, different Phenomenon gives different benefits. Take the young Mikhailov, for example. That Tri-color Lotus means that learning any Soul-related Skills should be as easy as drinking water for him. Of course, as every cultivation aspect is related to another, as long as he's provided with enough cultivation resources like I mentioned before, his overall cultivation speed should be extremely quick, beyond what even the most talented Peak heaven-Grade prodigy can attain. It's even possible for him to reach your level in a thousand years or even faster if he finds the right opportunities."
Pointing his finger toward the Lotus, he added.
"See those three colors? The centermost white signifies purity, used to cleanse any impurity from his Soul. The gold ring around that white part signifies Divinity, which will continuously nourish and strengthen his Soul Power and Consciousness. The last dark-blue color on the Petals' tips should represent his Water Element foundation, granting him a heightened Affinity with that Element, effectively lowering massively the difficulty of comprehending Water-related Intent, and even the Water Elemental Law itself. Those benefits should also affect his Physique and Mana systems, although to a lesser degree."
Hearing the lengthy explanation, Pietr felt a bit complicated hearing how a young man who had embarked on his cultivation Path merely a few months prior now only needed to cultivate assiduously to reach the Peak of this World's cultivation Path, and that in record time.
When he recalled all the difficulties he had to go through to reach his current cultivation base, he really wanted to curse at this World's unfairness.
Seeing the changing emotions on the younger man's face, Maksim chuckled briefly before remarking.
"You think it's unfair, don't you?"
Turning his gaze back toward the Lotus 'below', the Void Layers being peculiar places where up and down were relative, his tone turned contemplative.
"Actually, if you go to the main continent one day, you'll quickly realize that there are plenty of those with not only higher talent than you, but also with access to much better resources. It's just how the Heavens function. Some say it's unfair, gifting everything to a few while taking everything from the majority. In my view, I'd say it's more complicated than it appears. In a way, the Heavens are actually fair, just not in the way most people would wish for. I heard a saying once from a low-level cultivator who originated from a Mortal country. It goes 'What matters are not the cards the heavens gave you, but what you do with them'. Although it sounds a bit simplistic, it does match my understanding of this World. Talent and resources matter, sure, but as long as there is a way to obtain them, the path is still open, no matter how thorny and impossible to tread it seems."
Speaking those words, a few old memories surfaced in his mind, prompting him to shake his head slightly and add.
"In any case, there's no need to envy the lad. As long as you cultivate with a steady heart, although I can't guarantee you success, at least the possibility of treading further on the Immortal Path exists. Only if you give up would it end, leaving you with no way forward."
A simple truth, but how many could keep a steady Heart when their cultivation stagnated for hundreds, or even thousands of years...
Fortunately, it was not the case for Pietr, whose cultivation was still improving slowly but steadily.
Of course, when comparing himself to the young man below whose cultivation would definitely surpass him by an unknown amount, it did feel a bit stifling.
It was inevitable, though.
After all, although he would not let his emotions control his actions, it did not mean they did not exist.
If not, could he still be considered human?
While many thoughts traversed the blue-haired man's mind, Maksim, who observed the latter's expression, suddenly mentioned a shocking truth, which vanished the other man's negative emotions and left him instead with surprise and anticipation.
"Actually, Immortal Seeds, as the World's darlings, receive 'favors' from the latter other than those I mentioned previously. From what I read, as the Immortal Seed's cultivation grows, the Fate Energy will gather more and more around them, and some of it will be absorbed by both the people and the place around the Seed, with the quantity of Energy absorbed depending on the connection with the cultivator. In other words, the people around the Mikhailov lad will not only cultivate faster but will also experience fewer bottlenecks. Even the Energy Veins may benefit from an upgrade if we're lucky enough."
That statement was followed by a stunned silence before Pietr replied hesitantly.
"If that's the case, wouldn't those Tier 6 Forces want to steal him? How can we even hope to retain him?"
Shaking his head, Maksim explained what he knew.
"Not necessarily. Fate isn't as simple as you think. Even those Tier 6 Transcendent only have a superficial understanding of its rules. From what I've read, when I was still a member of... Well, still in the Main Continent, if one tries to force an Immortal Seed to join them, it will create a backlash. The result of that varies, but what has been observed the few times it happened was, at best, slightly harmful to the Force, and at worst, destroyed the Force completely. So nowadays, unless enmity has already been created, no Force would willingly go against an Immortal Seed."
