Chapter 4 - Chapter 4. Changes

(A/N: What the hell!! This story is doing so well; I can't tell you, guys, how much I appreciate all the support you've shown. I can't wait for you to see what I have in store for this chapter. Enjoy, and thanks again. All rights go to their legal owners. But I advise some headphones to listen to music(songs shown later) plus with the action in this chap, it'll add some ambiance. Thank you guys again, and enjoy.)

The Leauge and Titans had arrived back at the Watchtower after their impromptu meeting with Kisuke and Yoruichi. The meeting shed some much-needed light on what they had gotten into. " So, that was… a lot," Supergirl said, still trying to process everything they had just learned. "You telling me," Batgirl responded to her best friend, "It's like we've been living in the dark this whole time, to think that there's basically been a war going on right under our noses and when had no idea." She finished, the others nodding alongside her, agreeing with her statement. " What'd that guy hand you before we left, Sups?" Flash asked his big blue companion; the heroes also turned their attention to Superman as he opened and read the piece of paper Kisuke had given him before their departure.

" Wst 4936 Trinity Ave, Atlanta, Georgia," he read aloud, "It's an address, but to what building?" he pondered. " M3tro Production Studios," came Batman's voice; he had moved over to the computer and entered the address Superman had told them. " Why there?" questioned Hawkgirl. " We'll see when we get there," stated Batman as he moved back over to the group, having entered the location into the teleportation system. " Right now, come on, dude, we just got back; my brain can't handle anything else," Beastboy whined. " You heard what they said, Beastboy; we're on a time crunch," said Robin. " This is too important to leave to chance," Martian Manhunter helpfully added. " Come on, Beasty, let's just go and get it done," Cyborg encouraged his best friend. " FINE!" Beastboy huffed in frustration as the group was again transported out of the tower.

Arriving outside the Large Skyscraper that was the 'Metro Production Studios, ' the heroes made their way inside, ignoring the shouts of surprise and looks of surprise they received due to their unexpected arrival. " Welcome, Justice Leauge, Titans; we're honored to receive you, although I must comment on your lack of punctuality. We expected you 30 minutes ago," A figure stated; looking ahead of them, the heroes saw a browned-skinned man with gray hair dressed in a traditional butler uniform, his eyes an unnatural amber color. " If you would please follow me, we have to get you all a change of clothes." He said as he began walking to the elevator; the others followed behind him, confusion prominent on their faces; Batman and Manhunter excluded, they simply raised a single eyebrow each. "I'm not sure I understand what you mean; we're late; we came directly here after returning from our meeting with Kisuke and Yoruichi," Superman said, confusion evident in his voice.

"It's quite simple, you see; we expected you half an hour ago," the man said as he entered the elevator with the others. " Although knowing Kisuke and the others as well as I do, I suspect they kept you later than they were supposed to on purpose." He sighed as he chose a specific floor. " Ok, but what do you mean by getting us new clothes?" inquired the stoic voice of Raven. " Well, Mrs.Rachel, you all created quite the commotion by appearing here just as you are, as I understand your need for secret identities; I will it pass this time, but for future reference, please appear in your everyday clothes and as your civilian counter part>; He answered shocking Raven, his mention of her real name put her on edge. A feeling that hero fellow heroes reciprocated as they slightly shifted their stances into ones showing extreme alertness. "How do you know that name?" Batman growled out, his hand reaching into his utility pouch. "Please cease your hostels, Mr.Wayne; I am aware of most if not all of your identities as is your benefactor. That is why your costumes are not needed and would only draw unwanted attention". The old butler stated simply, "Ah, here we are; please get changed; I will be waiting here," He said as he gestured them out of the elevator onto a floor that seemed to be a closet. " Wait, are you telling me that this entire floor is just filled with Clothes and Shoes?" asked Supergirl, excitement in her voice. "Yes, now please proceed. We still have a schedule to keep to". The man said briskly, the hero filling the room to get changed(separately). " Male dressing rooms to the left, Females to the right," she stated as the door closed, giving them privacy.

"What do you think?' Superman asked Batman, " I believe it would be wise to save any question for our 'benefactor,'" Batman answered as he pulled a black suit from a hanger and moved to the changing room, Superman, Green Lantern, and Robin following behind him with suits of their own in varying colors, the others still picking outfits. After 20 minutes, they all returned to the elevator in more normal clothes (A/N: Imagine whatever you like). " Now that you are appropriately dressed, we can proceed to the meeting. I must warn you there will be a bit of a wait while he finishes his recording." The Butler stated, stepping out of the elevator once the desired floor was reached.

The Leauge followed, stepping into a luxurious recording studio, with Multiple placards hanging on the wall couches surrounding small glass coffee tables in different areas with white shag carpet underneath them. " Please sit; I will fetch some refreshments." The butler said, gesturing towards a seating area. The league spied another figure sitting in front of a massive soundboard; hearing the noise behind him, the man turned. " Sup, Nice to meet you; I'm Maliek y'all are just in time. He's about to record his last two songs," Maliek said. He was a dark-skinned man with black hair, a taper-style haircut, brown eyes, and a Cuban link chain around his neck." I guess Jeoffry left to get some snacks; that butler has always been so uptight in front of new people," Maliek grumbled, messing with the soundboard before grabbing the mic in front of him. " You ready?" He asked into the microphone. "Yeah, they heard a voice come through speakers. Looking into the booth, the Justice League saw a relatively tall, dark-skinned young man with dreads, amethyst eyes that seemed to glow like stars, the tips of his hair a deep blue, and a face that could make even men swoon regardless of sexuality. He was standing with headphones on his head in front of a recording mic.

They were so caught up in their observation that none saw Batgirl tense at the sight of the young man, except her best friend." Barb, you ok?" Kara asked, noticing her friend's reaction. " Yeah, I'm fine, just excited, that's all. How often do we get to meet celebrities as big as him outside of costume?" she replied, fainting excitedly. That seemed to do the trick as Kara nodded and returned her attention to the booth. " Alright, let's get this done," Maliek's voice cut through the room as he pushed a button, and music started to play. (A/N: Song California breeze by Lil baby)

"[Intro]

All you ever wanted was someone

To care for your—

[Verse 1]

Yeah, made it out the trenches, this type of life I can't get used to

Number one on YouTube, private dinner in Malibu

Show you how to work your stick

Ain't nobody gon' handle you

Put you in a Phantom 'cause you my lil' boo

Ready for whatever, I tie up my boots

Everybody goin' the same route, so, I switched up my route

Niggas ain't be what they talkin' 'bout, so I switched up my crew

Actin' like you love me knowin' it's flawed, so, I'm gon' fake it too

What else am I supposed to do?

Aware of my surroundings, I don't fuck with y'all, don't come around me

"Baby switched up," how that sound? Like a nigga in his feelings

You can't name somethin' I did flawed, I'm a dyin' breed of the realest

I ain't never worry about another nigga, so in that case, I'm the biggest (Nigga)

(Nigga)

I been travelin' around the world, my pivot's still ain't left the business

She got everything I want, ain't no need to fuck with these bitches

You can go and have a lil' fun, I ain't gon' trip, baby, I get it

Ain't bullshit in this game, wherever this plane land, I'm the littest nigga there

Turn your back on me, I ain't even care

If you need me, I'm still gon' be there

Tell me, how the fuck is this shit fair?

Switch on who? I went there

Fuck them too, I'm prepared

I run shit, get that clear

Heart broke, can't drop no tears

Was what it was, is what it is

[Chorus]

California breeze, take her out to eat

Stop at a lil' party

End up at the big house

I can't fuck with shawty 'cause she got a big mouth

Pull up in a 'Rari, hop out like a big dawg

Get my shit together, feel like I done took two years off

Bookin' on my schedule, I ain't rich enough to chill out

I watched you turn sour, I still don't know how to feel 'bout it

Majority of 'em folded, but I'm still solid

[Verse 2]

I'm still out here, still don't know how to feel about it

Early in the mornin' talkin' to Marquis

 about it

Wonderin', "Should I let it go, or, we beefin' 'bout it?"

Knowin' that I'll go cold on you for weeks about it

And it weren't even that deep, but, that's just how it be with me

I can't lie, she be fuckin' me good, but, girl, you fuck me better

I'm not surprised that you stereotypin' to be a lil' guy

But, if I can have a second of yo' time, try to elevate yo' mind

We can crush 'em on every level, I'm tellin' you

I fell in love with generatin' revenue

I know they gon' try to push you from the top, so I'm careful

I put niggas under my wing like they my nephew

I'ma give you every piece of game I got when I catch you

I'm just tryna let you feel the breeze with me (Yeah)

[Outro]

No, no, no, no

I'm supposed to be gone

But, shit, where I'm gon' go?

Tryna hold it in, I can't let this shit show

It can't be forced, it don't work, let it go

I tried to tell you, you act like you know"

" Damn! That's how you feelin'!" exclaimed Maliek into the mic. "We got one more to record for the release, but the Leayge and Titians are here; what you wanna do?" He asked. " We'll finish the rest up tomorrow. I want to get to know them before I decide." the voice came over the speakers again. "Bet," was Maliek's quick response before flipping some switches and turning off the booth. The door to the booth soon opened, and the young man inside stepped out. He was tall, as tall as Superman. He stood at 6'3, with long hair. In thick twists (A/N: Think King Von 2 strands {rip}) with blue at the tips, He wore a white tee shirt under a light blue patchwork letterman Jacket, black stacked jeans, and UNC of white Air Force ones. He also had chains around his neck; one was a cross with diamonds embedded, and the other was a round pendant with wings, a picture in the center of the circle. All in all, he was a very attractive young man.

Batman watched the person in front of them closely, noticing how the man's eyes scrutinized the room. His face gave nothing away. He observed that the man's eyes flashed in recognition and some other unidentifiable emotion as his eyes landed on Barbra. Turning his head to look at Barbra, he saw her purposefully avoiding eye contact with the man; a grimace on her face, he made a mental note to ask her about it later. The more information they had on this man, the better; unknown to him, a certain blonde-haired Kryptonian also noticed her reaction and had the same idea. The man began to speak, "Nice to meet you all. I'm…" "METRO BABY!" came the excited shouts from Beatboy and Cyborg. " Dude, you're an absolute legend; I love your music," Beastboy said, his face uncomfortably close to the artist. "Yeah, man, your last album was incredible," Cyborg his face right next to his best friends. " Heh, Um, thank you. I appreciate that," he replied, slowly inching away from the overly energetic duo. " Anyway, like I was saying, it's nice to meet you all. I'm Trayvon Bennett, but you can call me Tray," He said with a smile and a small wave. Sitting in front of the group, Tray's face became serious.

" I have a pretty good guess as to why you're late; Kisukes always loved pulling pranks." He sighed, pulling out a letter and handing it to Bruce. Opening the envelope, he pulled out a piece of paper with a drawing. The picture was a chibi Kisuke with a giant smile holding up a peace sign with his left hand and on his right a flag with kanji for prank printed on it. Crumpleing the paper, Bruce's left eyebrow began to twitch. " Moving on," Bruce started. " What exactly did you want to see us about?" He inquired. "Your training," came the quick reply from Tray. " I'm sure Kisuke explained what hollows are and how they are created. As such, you won't just be fighting but also performing Konso. And to do that, you'll need training, especially since I can't make you full Soul Reapers". Tray said. " So we will be imbuing all of your weapons with reiatsu," Jeoffry said as he appeared from a door with a tray of refreshments in his hand, placing them down on the table; he stepped back and stood at the side of his charge. " It'll give you the ability to deal more damage to hollows and fight on equal terms with the more powerful ones," Maliek said, sitting beside Tray.

"Any questions?" Tray asks. "Yeah, How do we know you'll be of any help?' Hawkgirl (Sheyara) questioned. Besides her, Diana nodded in agreement. Both of them were born into worrier races, and for them to entrust their training to someone whom they didn't know or trust was nerve-inducing, especially against such formidable foes as the hollows. Her answer was a blank stare from the three sitting across from them; the next thing the heroes knew, Maliek and Tray started to laugh hysterically while Jeffery stood to the side, trying and failing to keep the amusement off his face. "That's 'heh' hehe, a fair question," Tray said, trying to get his laughter under control. " Tell you what, I'll have a spar with those who doubt my abilities; when you lose, we'll begin your training." He proposed. "When we lose," Sheyara repeated dangerously. "what do you mean 'when we lose'? Do you think you can beat us on your own?" she questioned pompously as she picked up the mace she had laid against the couch. She stared at him intensely; seeing this, Tray smirked and said, "Arent you a little too old to play with toys?" He asked smugly; he chuckled when Sheyara was about to leap at him, only to be held back by Wonderwan.

"OK then, since you're so eager to begin, let's move to a more appropriate space," Maliek suggested. Standing, he walked towards the exit, the heroes following, noticing that Tray and Jeoffry weren't following, Wonder Woman said, "Don't tell me you've already given up?" she taunted, " I expected better, especially considering all of your bravado and overcompensating." she finished with a challenging smirk. Tray shrugged and said, " I'm not exactly dressed for a fight, no matter how easy." He shooed them off, saying, " I'll meet you there, plus you guys need to change too." His statement caused some frowns among the more doubtful heroes; as they walked into the elevator, Tray stood. "Are you sure it was wise to taunt them?" Joffrey questioned. "100%, they need incentive. Not to mention, it shows me who the hotheads are," Came Tray's calm response. Nodding, Jeoffry helped his young charge prepare for his upcoming battle.

~Scene Skip~

Standing in a barren rocky field, Tray awaited his quest. ' Thought they'd be here by now,' he lamented mentally. " Hearing the sound of doors opening, he watched the Justice League and Titans exit the elevator, watching their reactions with amused eyes. " Welcome to your primary training field; this area is called the 'study chamber.'" He said, gesturing to the field. "Tray had changed into a Black short-sleeved compression shirt, long baggy white sweatpants with black strings, and martial arts shoes (A/N; Think Toji fushiguro outfit) " I see that only seven of you are participating." He said as he observed the heroes in front of him: Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and surprisingly Batman, Batgirl, and Supergirl. " Well, are you all ready?" Joffrey asked, standing as the officiant for the match and seeing both parties nod; he raised his hand in a chopping motion. Seeing the heroes tense in preparation, he dropped his arm, yelling, "BEGIN." With that, the hero sprang into action. Hawkgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman charged forward while the Bats and Cyborg provided fire from the rear. 'Good Strategy,' Tray thought as he began to take a step forward. ' But it's too basic.' As his foot was about to hit the ground, he vanished. Appearing behind the unaware Cyborg, placing two fingers on the hero's back, 'Hadou number 6 impair,' he said mentally. As the cyborg was entangled in a rope made of lightning, his body went rigid and then collapsed to the ground. The next moment, he appeared in front of Batman and Batgirl, doing the same thing.

Once he had finished, he reappeared in his previous position, his hands in his pockets. A fierce battle cry erupted from Hawkgirl as she swung her mace towards his head. Seeing the attack, Tray simply reached a handout and snatched the mace from her, causing her to stumble forward. Using her imbalance, he kicked her in the back, sending her into the dirt. Without looking, Tray used the mace to parry Wonder Woman's sword, pushing her back. Spinning to gain momentum, he smashed the mace into Supergirl's stomach, sending her into Wonder Woman, the two crashing to the ground; dropping the mace, he stared impassively at the three Women who were getting to their feet. " Enough," his voice intoned. "What done already? I'll admit you caught us off guard, but we're nowhere close to done," Supergirl spoke, her fellow heroines nodding in agreement while taking up fighting stances. Sighing, Tray simply pointed behind them and said, " Yes, you are." Looking in his finger's direction, they were surprised to see their teammates on the ground, bound by lightning. "When did you…" Wonder Woman whispered in shock, her eyes blown wide. " The moment we began," He answered calmly. "That's impossible; you didn't move from that spot until I attacked you," Hawkgirl yelled in disbelief. " Oh, Did I?" asked Tray, a questioning look on his face. " Oh Well, the fact remains that I won; you left your unprotected, giving me the opportunity I needed to capture them." He shrugged.

" We haven't lost yet," Supergirl said with confidence. "Hawkgirl and I will hold him off; Wonder Woman cut them free," She said as her compatriots nodded. They made to move when "Thast a solid plan," Tray said from in between the three, "But, It won't work." he continued as he grabbed Wonder Woman's sword and disappeared again. Reappearing behind Batgirl, he held the tip to the back of her head. "Yield," he ordered simply. " YOU BASTARD!" Kara screamed, "WHAT KIND OF HERO ARE YOU!?" She yelled furiously.

"I'm not," he stated coldly. "I'm not training you how to be heroes. I'm training to kill hollows and protect lost souls. If this were a battle against a hollow, THEY would already be dead," He said aggressively " Cut the bullshit out in the field mistakes like this can and will get you and your team killed," he told them, his voice cold as ice. The statement caused the room to go silent. The three heroines are caught off guard by the young man's speech. "We…we yield," Hawkgirl said dejectedly. As soon as the sentence was uttered, restraints around Batman, Batgirl, and Cyborg disappeared, and Tray removed the blade from Batgirl's neck. Sighing, he helped Batgirl up and whispered, " For what it's worth, I'm sorry about using you as a hostage." He said softly, holding onto her hand. "It's ok came her soft reply; not once had her eyes risen to meet his; she withdrew her hand and walked back to the main group who had been observing from the side. Watching her leave, a familiar pang of pain ran through Tray's chest. Shaking his head free of those thoughts and feelings, he made his way to the gathering of people. " Is everyone satisfied now?" he questioned rhetorically. The heroes nodded. " Now, I'm sure all that did was add to your questions. But we'll have to end it here for today." "Yeah, I'm sure you all have cities to return to," Maliek added. Seeing them nod, Tray began leading them to the elevator while speaking. " Despite what I said earlier, I'm impressed; it was a good strategy. It would have worked if there were more of you participating. At the same time, my warning stands true: the world you've stepped into isn't one you can play around with. It takes not just strength but patience, perseverance, and intuition, both tactical and emotional, but most of all, it requires sacrifice." He finished Grimley, looking at each of them intensely, and asked, "Is this something you can commit to?" Watching as they all nodded resolutely, he smirked. " Good, we'll consider this your first lesson; meet here tomorrow and begin training earnestly." He stated as the doors closed.

A/N: Well, shit, that was a lot, but shit, it's done. I hope you guys are enjoying the main character and his little entourage. He's basically a mixture of T'challa, Toney Stark, Me, and Lil Baby, which is obvious by the copy and pasting of 'California Breeze.' FYI, if you didn't know, he's a rapper, so we'll be seeing a lot more of these. Again, I recommend some headphones to listen to the song
