The grandfather reached the cave. As he drew closer, he heard the sound of cats echoing from within.
Sola warned him: "Don't open the cave, or the wild cats will come out."
Grandfather: "How do you know there are wild cats inside?"
Sola the Wild: "I lived with them. They know me well… I'm their friend."
Grandfather: "So, you're beginning to remember your story."
Sola the Wild: "When I'm near the cats, my wildness fades away."
Grandfather: "Then remember — what happened to you?"
Sola the Wild: "The owner of the palace threw me into this cave and took my children."
Grandfather: "Do you remember their names?"
Sola the Wild: "Siyili and Vizela."
The grandfather stepped back from Sola, sat down, and began to cry and shout:
"Your children lived with me… but now they're gone. They've left me. I'm afraid they'll suffer the same life you once lived."
The sounds of the cats grew faint, and perhaps they had vanished.
Sola the Wild screamed: "You damned cat! You ruined my life!"
Grandfather: "What do you mean… with 'the cat'?"
Sola the Wild: "It's the wild cat that crosses continents."
Grandfather: "Where can I find her?"
Sola the Wild: "She has flying eyes."
Grandfather: "I'll open the cave door."
He entered the cave carrying a lamp, but found no cat inside.
He called to Sola the Wild to come in and said: "There's no one here."
Sola entered the cave, screaming and meowing like a cat. The grandfather covered his ears to block out her piercing cries.
She then collapsed to the ground, clutching at the dirt until she drifted into sleep.
