When the machine finally opened, the small man had become a tall, muscular figure.
His name was Steve Rogers, later known as Captain America.
On the other side, Red Skull, the leader of HYDRA, had also gained similar powers. However, unlike Captain America, he was ruthless and evil. Using the Tesseract, Red Skull acquired advanced weapons and planned to take control of America.
Captain America stopped him by sacrificing himself.
"Captain America, huh? He seems to be the result of a Super-Soldier Serum that gave him enhanced strength, agility, and an indestructible Vibranium shield. His real name is Steve Rogers, and he's been missing for over 50 years after saving America from HYDRA," Ben commented after watching Steve Rogers' story.
Ben continued navigating through the historical events displayed on Upgrade TV.
His attention shifted to the post-war era, where government agents began handling supernatural phenomena. Ben observed the formation of the Strategic Scientific Reserve, or SSR, an organization dedicated to dealing with extraterrestrial and supernatural threats.
Upgrade TV then revealed that the SSR eventually underwent a major reorganization and became the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division—S.H.I.E.L.D.
The organization expanded its operations, dealing with supernatural events and protecting the world from otherworldly threats.
"So, they're like the Plumbers of my universe, but they're always involved in politics. They can't be as perfect as the Plumbers," Ben mused.
Upgrade TV continued revealing supernatural events. The display then shifted to the 1990s and the story of Carol Danvers, a U.S. Air Force pilot.
After an accident involving the Tesseract, Carol Danvers became a Kree-human hybrid known as Vers.
"She's beautiful, but the Kree took her. She gained powers such as energy projection, flight, and superhuman strength," Ben commented.
In 1995, Vers crash-landed on Earth and met a young Nick Fury, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. With Nick's help and the assistance of the shape-shifting Skrulls, she discovered her true identity.
"Captain Marvel not only helped the Skrulls escape Kree oppression but also recovered the Tesseract," Ben observed as the story continued.
