Chapter 80 - Chapter(74)

Episode(74) Me, the hero?

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(74)

No, focus.

Nagisa shook his head.

Immediately after he finished the spiritual form, he then began to imagine reshaping the sword itself, blade and all.

Soon enough, Nagisa released a breath of air and laid eyes on his creation.

『NightFall』

[Requirements: Nagisa Kanata]

[Condition: Currently in Evolution Process~2.1%]

[Amazing]

Genuine amazement shown across his face.

Holding up the black blade, sleek and beautiful as if it were a woman trying to seduce his sturdy heart.

Nagisa almost couldn't hold back his admiration when he peered at the katana.

He grinned.

It had gone from a low grade legendary weapon into a perfect grade in a flash.

[It's light...but also heavy]

It had great balance as if he had been accustomed to the sword all his life.

As if he was born wielding it straight from the womb.

Also-

[The stats on this thing….hard to believe it went up so much from a single upgrade!]

He sighed.

On average, even without being in darkness just having the sword in its sheath improved his attributes by 65%.

With his current stats, even a slight boost would make him a monster.

It was a pity he couldn't actually see his various attributes visualized in numbers, then it'd be easy to compare to others but he was sure that with this added percentage he would be all the more powerful.

'Also….evolution huh?'

Nagisa had thought that the sword reaching peak legendary peak tier was its limitation, however seeing as the words 'evolution' appearing below the description it seemed that wasn't the case at all.

If so, what could actually be beyond legendary tier?

Even adding such high grade material didn't cause an immediate change but it seemed whatever evolution was bound to happen would need even higher grade materials.

Just thinking about the power of his swords after legendary tier excited him fully.

[Well….I'm not short on materials-]

And it seemed he could find just about anything in this dungeon so maybe he could stumble upon even higher grade material to speed up the evolution.

That would be awesome.

He then took out hopeless.

With anticipation painting his face as he activated item creation, he quickly synthesized the material.

Although it seemed he could create the sword with art of death, to synthesize materials he had to use item creation.

Maybe it was because a sword couldn't truly be called a 'subordinate' so he couldn't carry out fine tuning with the trait.

Fortunately however he picked up this skill.

'I wonder what job has the skill?'

Item creation was a rare skill, it didn't seem like an ordinary blacksmith would gain it as an initial skill.

Perhaps only a rare class?

Then again, how did thinking about any of this benefit his current situation.

Shaking the useless thoughts out of his head with a sigh, Nagisa looked lovingly at the blade before him.

Crystal clear blue, it seemed no different from an ordinary glass toy sword that would shatter if clashed against even the cheapest of stainless steel swords and yet-

『Hopeless Widow』

[Rank: Legendary(Perfect)]

[Options:

~Frost bite– Targets cut by the blade will automatically begin to freeze. Unless the level difference in vast, targets will freeze into ice blocks.

~Frost blade– Activate frost wave slash pouring mana into the sword.

~Blue Rose~ When the blue rose blooms, the targets life-force will be drained by 60% and empower the host.

~Niflheim~ Wide range attack. Freezes anything within 80Km radius

~Grants resistance against Ice elements]

[Requirements: Nagisa Kanata]

[Condition: Currently in Evolution Process~2.1%]

[Kukuku…..Wonderful, simply wonderful]

Nagisa almost lost himself to his excitement.

Just like it had with Nightfall, Hopeless became a perfect grade legendary weapon with the same 'Evolution' status at the bottom.

'Can't lie…I kinda wanted more'

It'd be a lie to say that he wasn't expecting Hopeless to exceed Legendary and step into whatever realm lay beyond.

Still, it seemed that even adding extra service to the synthesis did nothing to change the results.

Even so he was happy and he sheathed Hopeless while humming cheerfully.

[Then, that's that huh? I should stop wasting time and find that boss room before I get too lazy to go looking….?]

Whistling a familiar nursery rhyme, he made sure he had everything before moving out.

Just then, Nagisa turned to face the passage.

His perception now was extremely sharp, and just now it felt as if something was nearby.

[Is it a monster…..no, maybe human?]

He couldn't tell.

Honestly, what he felt wasn't so much a presence.

If he had to explain it in a detailed way, it'd be more to say he felt a spirit?

How do you even feel a spirit?

Even back on earth he never believed in ghosts but his perception would never lie.

So, Nagisa followed his intuition feeling that whatever it was posed him no threat.

[Still-]

Is it a monster or human?

Just as he walked deeper into the passage, Nagisa was met with the sight of bones.

Extremely withered and decayed old bones just lying there against the dungeon walls.

Judging by the way it was positioned, it must have died with a stomach wound slowly bleeding out against the wall.

It was cliché to lean against things while your eyes flashed through your eyes so it must have been one of those moments.

'Judging by the bone structure it seemed to be a human…or rather it was humanoid'

Nagisa had no idea whether this thing was truly a human or just a monster with a humanoid form so he could only speculate.

As he continued peering at the bones, he got a peculiar feeling.

It was very strange, as if a whisper into his very soul.

Not so much a call, more curiosity.

Like, 'What if I touch these bones?'

A question he didn't think about consciously but strangely, it appeared in his mind?

Not able to shake the feeling, Nagisa gave in and touched the skull of the skeleton patting off the dust first before laying a solid palm on the remains of the creature.

It was then-

<>

[Eh?....Wha-!?]

'Wait a minute, I didn't activate it!'

<>

'Involuntary what?! Nonsense! Don't activate without my permission!'

Nagisa tried to pull his had away hoping in his heart that he wouldn't absorb some curse or an annoying old spirit from the ancient times.

However when he did retreat, he brought the corpse back with him.

!!!

He was horrified.

No, seriously what the hell was this?

Was it a possession?

Realizing that he couldn't pull away no matter how hard he tried, he gave up looking to the sky with a single tear falling from his eye.

[Gramps, I'll never get to see your ugly mug again!-]

Ding!

A chime suddenly echoed as he was in the middle of acting out a dramatic scene.

<>

<>

<>

[Eh?]

Confusion.

[Wha-? Eh?]

What was this circus show?

His trait suddenly activated by itself and all of a sudden he became some hero of water?

'This whole skills thing is too confusing!'

Sighing, he pondered.

'A hero, so like Renji?'

Another notification came interrupting his thoughts.

<>

[Convenient]

But, there was also the fact that he had no water related skills or magic so it was, in essence rather useless.

Trash!

Might as well have given me used panties!

'No, that might not be the case-!'

Yes, he also had Hopeless, a sword that uses Ice magic.

And though he didn't need to complain with his mana capacity as vast as it was.

Using hopeless full force would probably drain a third of his mana reserves.

What if even after going full force thrice he still couldn't kill an enemy?

Even running would be impossible by then so he needed this trait!

Nagisa clenched his fist and still felt slightly disappointed however.
