Chapter 120 - Chapter(113)

Episode(113) Flow Amidst The Sea Of Chaos, Enjoying A Battle

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(113)

The first to make their move was the monsters. They surged like a tide.

Although she had already cut down so many before, it seemed to be just a drop in the bucket when looking at the wave of monsters charging at herself.

Camilla did not retreat, instead she swung her sword.

It was a bit regretful that she had too little mana to activate the barrier, however there was nothing she could do.

Weave, slash. Weave through the crowd and slash.

She was rammed to the ground by one monster but rolled with the momentum, then twisted and slashed through a monster at her rear.

Stamina wise she was endless and could keep going no matter how long the battle continued for.

But, this did nothing to change the fact that her body was riddled with holes, deep gashes everywhere and blood profusely spilling out on the ground with every move.

If that wasn't enough, her current mana reserves were only enough to use a skill a few more times or cast several more spells before it completely bottomed out.

Before she could even tell what was happening, her limbs shook wildly refusing to move as she wanted.

This situation was far from beneficial and yet she powered through with her strength forcing her body to move.

There was an obvious lag in her movements causing her to get hit several times.

An ant clasped her right hand in its maw from the elbow down and centipede slammed her heavily against the ground.

However, grabbing the sword that spun through the air with her left hand she stabbed through the centipedes crown with one motion, then kicked it away and launched herself behind the ant stabbing through its head.

Freeing her arm, she barely had time to regain feeling before more attacks came.

Her sword, clumsy steadily followed the flow and momentum of each swing severing monster heads and slicing monsters in half.

The moment she ceased swinging her sword may be her end.

So, even as she felt her body become more and more sluggish she continued to swing.

Swing here, swing there, swing up, down, left right, diagonally.

Swing around then swing some more.

Her feet danced each step seeming like she would fall yet she just let her body flow with the sword her mind only thinking that swinging even a moment later would spell doom.

But, she knew she had to end this soon.

Her mana was already reaching the point of completely going dry. If that happened then her weakened state would become even weaker.

Although in this world, completely depleting ones mana wasn't anything too serious as mana was a source created infinitely in the soul.

It would affect physical strength if one depleted their mana to 0. At least, a grown man would feel as if even breathing took too much effort.

And, each person's mana recovery was different. With her talent, it would take a long time to completely recover mana.

With her current state, she might just completely lose control of her body and if that were the case the monster tide besieging her would swarm her and rip her apart without mercy.

Since that was the case, she decided to stop using mana.

In any case, her titanic physique was powerful enough. As a result, even though she stopped flowing mana through her body her domination over the field only reduced slightly.

To begin with, the amount of mana one could flow through their body for enhancement was limited by two things.

One was the durability of the physical body to withstand mana, and the ability to properly control mana to flow smoothly through the nerves.

Camilla definitely had a powerful body that could withstand a high level of mana flowing through it now. However, her mana control was poor so in the end the amount of enhancement she received was not that great so her strength did not change much after she stopped the flow of mana.

A blade covered in mana light slashed through the air straight towards her. It was fast and heavy.

Still, compared to the spider mantis this was nothing.

Shifting her body, Camilla avoided the attack then with a spin severed its legs and pierced through its heart nailing it to the ground.

The attack was swift but the counter was even faster.

At the same time, her instincts from having Nagisa ambush her several times warned her and she leaned back ready to retreat but her legs lost strength and she fell to her rump.

[Kiiiiee!]

The loud shriek of a dog sized bat followed as it shot by with an incredible speed.

Seeing the monster weave around in the air, ready to attack again Camilla twisted her body and kicked the hilt of the sword with her heel sending the sword up in the air while avoiding the flying blitz.

As the bat made another rounds, Camilla grabbed the sword and slashed through it in one go completely killing it.

[I never knew bats showed up]

But she did not have time to consider this. She had to get this battle between the mobs done and over with before the spider mantis joined the attack once more.

'You're perception is trash, don't even bother trying, you lack talent-'

His words echoed in her mind.

'Rather, now that you have an enhanced body just use your ears, all it takes is just a little mana like so-'

Recalling the method Nagisa had shown her while dissing her, Camilla twitched her brows and flowed a tiny bit of mana into her ears.

Now that she knew there were flying monsters she had to be on the alert.

As her ears were infused with mana, she realized she could now hear several times better than before even the sound of flying monsters sounded so clear.

At the same time, this method helped her sense her surroundings more clearly. Although she would still be damaged, she could now react several times faster than before.

How many times had she swung her sword by this point?

Had it been outside the boss room, she likely would have received a ton of experience points.

Before she knew it, all that remained around her were insect carcasses.

With a stab, she finished off one of the remnants and panting she pointed the sword at the spider mantis.

It seemed different, as if it had healed all its damage. Was it taking the time to recover?

Yet here she was, in this state.

She shook her head, No matter-

[Your minions are no more, let us finish this battle between us monster!]

The sword felt heavy, her body weak even the arm holding the sword trembled as if it would drop it any moment.

Nevertheless–

[Just you and me! Let's fight!]

The tiny bit of mana she managed to recover during the fight, Camilla poured it into every corner of her body and charged forward.

…

Going back a few moments-

[Hahaha!]

Silver blue hair fluttered wildly through the air as a figure shot through the air like a meteor.

Boom!

A ghostly figure flickering between reality and an illusive state as it was sent crashing through several sturdy stalagmites growing from the cave walls.

Nagisa, his feet crushing the wall at his every step shot over like lightning and met the ghost in a flurry of attacks.

[Come on!]

His laughter was free and unbridled almost as if he wasn't in a boss room at all.

[You've gotta have more than this right?! Aren't you the hero killer?]

His every move seemed to say 'SHOW ME MORE!'.

Clangs echoed as the sword met the scythe producing sparks and eventually the ghost had to retreat after taking a heavy blow.

[Don't disappoint me now!]

I held back, I wanted to see just how powerful this thing was and what exactly it had that my danger sense kept warning me.

The ghost, try as it might could not find escape nor leg room to breathe.

Even utilizing its ability to float which was a huge advantage in battle didn't change anything against this punk.

Nagisa's unique footwork made his every move seem as if he was teleporting.

He would even use the small chunks of debris floating after each collision to step on air and keep afloat.

It seriously wondered whether it was the monster or was it this guy.

Kiiin!

The high pitched sound of metal against metal rang through the air as Nagisa's sword met with the scythe blade in a head on collision produces sparks.

As both released their strength, Nagisa fell down with the force, a grin on his face.

As soon as he landed, the ghost appeared swinging its scythe and Nagisa wove through its attacks then with a series of back and forth clashed with the monster the attacks barely visible.

If not for the sparks that were flashing all over the place as they moved, the spirit queen might have suspected they were working together to scare her.

The two figures flashed appearing in different places as if teleporting completely leaving her baffled.

Sure, she admit that against the hero the ghost mainly had the upper hand due to the hex it caused making it impervious to the hero's attacks and gradually draining the hero's life force until he died.

Still, the ghost would have been powerful regardless of the hex or not.

The hero still had less than 40% chance of victory either way.

And to such a monster-

[Just what-]

What was she seeing?

The monster had definitely grown stronger, it's hex was not activated but still what was this situation?

She had thought the human who unsealed her before was nothing but an arrogant human that didn't even understand how great a spirit was.

Spirits were beings that were tied to the elements, a creature that made a contract with a spirit would increase their elemental affinity allowing them to use that element freely at less cost than what would be usually needed.

And if the spirit was affectionate enough, that creature could use 100% of the spirits power without cost at all.

So humans and other creatures usually adored spirits.

When a human acted casually before she thought he was a country bumpkin that accidentally ended up here with bad luck.

But the situation before her-

[This doesn't make sense at all!]
