One bowl of porridge was fed to her quickly. As she swallowed the final mouthful, Manman immediately raised her head to look at him. "You promised me… after I finished, you'd let me see my Second Brother."
Muo Huangnian narrowed his eyes at her. "You finished this bowl of porridge just to see your damn Second Brother?"
Manman froze for a moment. "You just promised me..."

Qin Manman fixated her gaze on the screen and saw Qin Lou lying on a broken-down stretcher bed, his entire body—even his head—wrapped in bandages. One of his hands hung with an IV attached.
The faint rise and fall of his chest revealed the curve of breathing; he was still alive.
