The breakfast was originally prepared by Sikder for Talia, but not knowing when Hyperion would wake up, Sikder had brought the breakfast just now and then went downstairs again to continue making breakfast.
No sooner had Sikder left the room than Hyperion woke up.
Upon opening the foil, it appeared to be a golden-brown baked bacon and pineapple bread, steaming and sprinkled with chopped green onions and shredded cheese.
"Ah."
Talia held it underneath with her hand and brought it to Hyperion's mouth.
"I'm not a child anymore."
With cheeks slightly blushing, Hyperion protested, but still took a bite from the end, gradually easing into comfort.
The crust was crispy, the inside soft and hot, the dough chewy, the fragrance of baked cheese sweet, the sour-sweet pineapple and the springy bacon.
In that moment, Hyperion felt truly alive.
So this was how delightful it had been for Tata to be fed while leaning against the headboard.
