Ripped from his thoughts, Erik's gaze snapped over to the door. Emma entered under Erik's stern, frustrated eyes. Timid, but determined.
Erik said nothing. Frustrated as he was, her interruption annoyed him, but he didn't want to snap at her. Emma noticed his feelings and flinched a little, but that didn't stop her. She quickly moved closer to him, some worry etched on her face.
"Sorry for being selfish, Master…" she whispered softly, grabbing his right hand and pulling it to her chest. Her large, heterochromatic eyes were wide open and filled with a frustration of her own. She looked into his now quite dark gaze.
"And I do know how to block our bond so I don't feel it, but…" she continued, a little hesitantly and with a small gulp, "…knowing how frustrated you are in here, I can't help but want to soothe you. S— So please let me take your mind off this question for a while…"
