6.37pm. I ran through the forest near the infamous red bridge, as i did so it felt like the shadows were following me. Not that i care about it though. Rumors said that it's a famous spot where people commited suicide beacuse the waves below were so strong that not even the fastest swimmer could survive. Pfft- as if I believe that's true. "Man I was so enganged in my lab experiments, was that neccessary for them to make me do the missions instead of my siblings? Gosh." I shook my head, still displeased with my family asking me to do the mission. Despite my complains, nothing was going to change either ways so might as well finish it and go back to my experiments as soon as possible. When I arrived at the location, I knew that the creature was somewhere around that area. Just where exactly? While I was looking around the trees, I wore my gauntlet bracers on both of my forearms. With no warnings, a red flaming knife was thrown at me, causing an explosion with pink smoke. I dodged it, obviously.
After the pink smoke cleared up, my eyes darted towards the direction of where the knife was thrown from. In that moment, I saw a woman with orange skin, almost void-like black eyes with white pupils fierce enough that it can look like it'd kill you and red flaming hair on of the trees. Definitely an ahkluk, Ahkluks are creatures from other realms. They've come to earth to invade this realm and conquer it. That's where my family comes in and prevents them from doing so, using any possible ways. Wished we were credited a bit but I guess it's better if the public turned a blind eye to it. Even though it's bothersome sometimes, atleast there's a lot fun in fighting and killing strong ahkluks. I patiently waited for the ahkluk's next move, but then it hit me.
"Wait, don't tell me that the ahkluk's ability is only knives?!" I thought to myself, as I got my daggers ready to attack the creature. "This should trigger it to fight back" I took my stance, ready to jump her. In a blink, I sliced my daggers through her throat with ease. I squinted my eyes at the body of the ahkluk, "Damn it, is that ahkluk THAT weak?! Wasted my time and energy, tsk." I rolled my eyes at the scene, wiped my daggers as I walked away. I grinned for a bit, thinking about something sweet, creamy yet soft which is none other than... strawberry cake!
I was about to leave to the bakery but then I heard a scream and a loud splash coming from the river. In an instant, I sprinted towards the source of the sound only to find a dark red-haired girl sinking to the depths of the river. I took off my tank top and shoes then jumped in to the river. I stroked through the river with my arms, desperately trying to grab the girl while fighting againsts the strong waves pushing me back every second. The rumors were right, the waves were indeed strong and the girl seemed to have already passed out. I stroked one last time and managed to grab the girl. I swam my way back to the land. I did CPR and gave 2 rescue breaths to her, she seemed fine by then. I started to think however, "I usually don't save people even when they scream their lungs off for me, so why did I go as far as to swim in a dangerous river for a girl I don't know?" I shooked my head and decided to take the girl to my lab as a test subject. I dried myself, wore my clothes and carried her in a piggybackride then went to the bakery. People were staring at us, especially the girl who's still unconscious and wet. "She's still unconscious huh?" I mumbled, still walking to the bakery.
When I reached the bakery, the smell of fresh baked bread immediately filled my nose. "Oh our regular, welcome! Let me guess one strawberry shortcake?", the clerk asked me as he grabbed the cake and put it infront of me. I nodded silently as always and handed him the cash. I bowed, grabbed the cake then left the bakery. The clerk didn't ask about the girl... I guess he got used to me bringing random things after finishing missions. After leaving the city centre, I ran back to my lab, located in the suburb of the city. Reaching there, I entered the lab and placed the girl inside of my machine with the purpose of returning anything deformed into its original form. I hadn't tried it yet but I was sure that it would work. I left the girl in the machine and changed to eat my cake.
30 minutes went by, I was about to put the cake in my mouth but before I could, a shrill scream came from the room of the machine. I walked slowly towards it while nervously chomping down the piece of cake and I saw her.
