After two weeks breezed of reading, well I wouldn't call it reading, more like, devouring information.
Well after reading about half of the books here, which contains six hundred and twenty nine books, I came to the conclusion.
"This world really has it rough", the words escaped my mouth.
This world was chained by harsh rules, that had merciless enforcers, enforcing them, known as "The Divines". In human term, Angels.
Sigh~
Let me explain in details.
There are three official realms, "The Divine Realm", "The Human Realm", and "The Demon Realm". "The Shadow Realm" is said to be a sub realm, under the human realm, and there are rules that keeps it that way.
One of them, birth restriction.
"A shadow can not reproduce, a being of darkness has nothing to do giving life, you can only take it", the words of a divine.
This restriction was embedded into their genes, as shadows were made in human likeness, they carried all necessary organs, but even though a male shadow may have a penis and a scrotum, but they can not produce sperm, same with the females, they had no ovum to get pregnant.
The only way a shadow is born, is when a human is being born, whose shadow self is birth with it, the baby shadow appears on a sacred alter, known to shadows as the temple of birth.
The second one, Weakness of light.
"Light and darkness can not coexist", also the words of a divine.
This restriction makes shadows deeply affected by powerful light. This goes deep into the genes as no shadow as ever had a trait related to the power of light, well except the Vulcan household of course.
Another restriction is, the human connection.
Humans and shadows share a soul, with humans possessing a larger share, if the human dies, the shadow counterpart loses his/her soul, becoming a husk, called losts.
Another restriction is, Human possession.
This restriction was made after multiple events, of shadows finding methods to possess humans, and some were actually able to, but were immediately executed by divines, shortly after.
"I kinda broke this rule, so I'm kinda cooked", I muttered.
Another restriction is, isolation.
The shadow realm is being isolated from other realms, by preventing contact to both human and demon realm with the creation of the world barrier
And the punishment for this and all others is, death.
There's one more restriction but it's not caused by the divines.
The restriction of the abyss zone.
The abyss zone, a total enigma, that surrounded all three continents, nothing exactly is known of it, but what is known?, is that it is source of all things evil in this world.
Sigh~
Knowing all these restrictions, one can know how cooked I am.
"I broke two rules!, death is surely coming for me"
"And going back to earth isn't an option, as the human realm is under the divine realm jurisdiction, going back there will hasten my death"
"I just got a new and good life, and death is already at the door"
'I should leave before I'm caught, and killed'
*Knock* *Knock**Knock
"....!?"
I froze in panick, but regained my senses after three short breaths.
'Who could it be?'
'I'm not expecting anyone'
'The divines?'
Sigh~
"calm down, let's go see who it is", I muttered softly
I made my way to the door, silent and measuredly, and opened it slowly, stopping halfway.
Sigh~
I internally breath a sigh of relief when I saw it wasn't a six winged shiny humanoid monster.
But a young man, probably nineteen, around 5,7ft in height, wearing a white shirt underneath a pitch black waistcoat, with a crest on the left chest, with a matching trouser that seemed slightly larger than him.
A sweat of nervousness rolled down his left cheek, as a towering figure stood beside the half opened door, his jet black eyes with slight bags underneath them scanned every inch of him.
"Urm, urm, good day sir", the young lad greeted nervously, which I replied with slight nod.
"I would like to see sir Outis"
"You're looking at him", I replied flatly
"Oh, I'm Cyan from the explorers association, a vacancy came up recently, and you were recommended for the job by one of our sponsors. An official meeting as been scheduled five days from now, please endeavour to be there on time."
He gave a slight bow and left, leaving me dazed, though it didn't reflect on my face
I shut the door and returned to my study room,at arrival, I Immediately sat and planned my next course of action.
' The explorers association, I've read, and I know of them from one of my memories. Basically seven hundred years ago, some powerful individuals decided to venture into the abyss zones, with the purpose of mapping the entire shadow realm, discover hidden treasures, uncover mysteries, threats and more.'
' The association gain the support of all three continents, not long after it's establishment, they recruited people, and called them, "Explorers", and categorised them by their strengths into three tiers'
' To some being an explorer was a dream job, they got paid well, with the least pay being, 5,000 Donn bright steel and highest being 15,000 Donn bright steel, but entry wasn't easy, you're either recommended by sponsors, or prove yourself in a recruitment tournament'
With the new opportunity given to me, and my current predicament, my next move would be to.
"Enter the abyss zone as an Explorer, that way I would earn money, while still on the run"
Haa~
"How ironic, I left earth on the run, just to continue here".
Sigh~
"At least there's cultivation!"
This world contains several energies, used by the people to cultivate power.
And among these energies, two stand at the top.
Skotos and karma.
Skotos, also translated to darkness, is the natural energy of the shadows, who were made from darkness.
The higher the skotos cultivation stage, the more assimilated they are to it, with each stage giving special benefits.
The stages are
Unborn stage: this is the beginning and weakest stage and are mostly occupied by children from the age 1- 13. At this stage they are the least connected to skotos.
New born stage: this stage does nothing but allows the shadow to see and feel the energy around them.
True born stage: this stage doubles physical prowess.
Reborn stage: this stage triples the shadow's physical abilities, all though a bit difficult to achieve.
Prime stage: this is a unique stage that not only multiplies the shadow's physical abilities but also gives them the ability to manipulate the skotos energy in them allowing them to manipulate their body structure.
Apex stage: this stage is the highest known stage for skotos cultivation. This stage not just allows you to manipulate the skotos energy in the body but also allows the shadow to manipulate the skotos energy around them.
"It would be a drag for me to explain karma as well"
