Chapter 206 - Two Hundred and Sixth

She pulled a book from the shelf at random. It was lighter than she expected, bound in soft, pale blue leather that was cool to the touch. The title was simple, etched in elegant silver script: 'A Compendium of Lost Lands'. Not exactly what they were looking for, but it was a start.

Well...

That might have been giving the book a bit too much credit. It was...

Something. Was what it was.

It was the possibility that it could be a start, and that was the best she'd seen of the titles so far. 

She settled into a plush velvet chair, the book resting in her lap. The pages were thin, almost translucent, covered in a delicate, looping script. She tried to read, but the words swam before her eyes, a meaningless jumble of letters. Her mind kept drifting, back to the Everburn Torch, to Master Valerius's calculating gaze, to the roguish wink of the fiery-haired stranger.
