After Klaus and Asta finally stopped arguing, they went over to the door and Asta used used his Sword to break the door.
Klaus walked in front of the treasure room saying the Golden Dawn had priority as they got there first but was magnanimous enough to allow the Black Bulls access and Asta argued saying that since a member of the Black Bulls beat the Diamond Mage, we should go first.
As entertaining as their arguing was, it was getting tedious. I walked behind Asta and smacked him upside the head.
"It doesn't matter who goes in first, just try to find something useful." I said as I walked past him wondering if there would be anything I'd even be able to get any use from.
I already saw Yuno following some green orb and I knew he'd be getting Sylph soon.
The fact that I was seeing the orb suggested that I could have gotten her if I wanted.
I knew that the Demon-Dweller sword was actually hidden in a seperate room off of the treasure room so I walked over to the wall as I could actually see an area that seemed devoid of mana and it had this orange circular shaped stone or something on it.
That was most likely the wall with the sword as the Demon-Dweller Sword absorbs mana.
I was thinking about how to get Asta to find it when the screaming kid came up to me.
"Hey Ranto, show me that magic punch you did, I want to try to learn to use my own magic punch!" Asta said happily with Yuno uselessly pointing out that Asta can't use a magic punch without magic.
They started arguing which was mostly Asta screaming as he always does and Yuno ignoring him and with that I found my moment.
"Damn it Asta stop screaming!" I said as I punched him into the wall enough to crack it as I had already subtly sent a force spell into it that weakened the earth.
Asta's body broke through the wall and he was lying on his back then looked behind him.
"Ranto why'd you have to hit m... Hey look it's a sword!" Asta had started to complain before seeing the sword.
"A sword?" I asked feigning ignorance.
Asta walked over to the sword and picked it up and as soon as his hand wrapped around the hilt, Asta's grimoire floated up and opened up and sucked in the sword.
"Cool, I got another sword! Ranto check out the sword I got!" Asta said completely forgetting his anger at me hitting him.
I walked over and he summoned the sword from his grimoire and I had to say, in real life, that sword looks awesome.
After Asta finished fanboying over his sword he continued to search the treasure room.
I walked around and felt that there was nothing I'd gain from this mission until suddenly I saw some whiteish blue orbs and I followed them.
I had almost felt, drawn to follow the orbs as if something was calling me. I didn't even get that from Sylph.
As I was walking through following the orbs it eventually brought me to a pile of gold and I could see some black vaguely circular shape hidden under the gold.
When I picked up the object I saw what looked like a burned piece of parchment.
When I unfurled it, all I saw was bits and pieces of some strange symbols and most of it seemed to be burned off.
'Hmm, I wonder what this is? I thought it was something like Sylph but the orbs were blue so it couldn't be Gnome as that is the earth spirit or Salamander as that spirit is already with Fana.
Then again the orbs did look similar to the color of some of my magic so it could be simply particles of my mana that I was following. Ugh it's all so confusing'
As I was having my internal dilemma, the rest of the mages seemed to have gotten what they were destined to get.
Asta already had the Demon-Dweller Sword and Yuno was holding a rolled up scroll in his hand it was probably the spirit contract for Sylph.
Just as Yuno unfurled the scroll a bright green light shined and everyone closed their eyes from the brightness and then, just as soon as the light shined, it stopped and Klaus walked over to talk to him about it.
Klaus then explained that they had already called people to get the rest of the treasures for the Kingdom and we simply had to wait for them to arrive.
Just then I saw Mars' grimoire that was in Klaus' hand start to glow then I remembered the scene from the anime where Asta had to dispel his flame recovery magic for him to actually be knocked out.
Before I was able to do anything, I saw a mass of diamond crawl along the floor and hit Noelle, clearly Mars targeted her as she could put out his flames.
"Noelle!" Asta shouted as he tried to rush over to her.
Asta was interrupted by a diamond sword and he had to slash it in half.
Meanwhile Mimosa, who had already healed herself, rushed over to Noelle to try and heal her with another healing spell.
I had wished that Noelle had never attacked Mars, but she did attack him once or twice before I ended up fighting him.
I still planned to attack him with Asta but I suddenly found myself trapped in diamond bindings and I couldn't get to my grimoire.
I also noticed that he had bound Klaus, Yuno, and Luck as wel. Having already known they would be annoying to fight just as me so he made sure he'd only have to fight one combat mage and leave the healer for last.
I could have muscled out of it, but I decided to let Asta get some combat experience and I could always heal him if I needed to.
Asta had begun attacking him with his Demon Slayer Sword and Mars was pissed at someone other than me stopping him from completing his mission and the brat kept destroying all his attacks like they were nothing.
This went on for a few minutes until Mars seemed to have come to the conclusion he had in the anime, only a lot sooner than he did in the show and started shooting smaller faster projectiles at Asta who was having a hard time keeping up due to the heavy sword.
Asta with his amazing battle IQ knew he needed to be faster so he decided to try out the Demon-Dweller Sword.
The smaller blade did wonders for Asta's speed and he could then keep up with the faster attacks.
One huge swing of the Diamond greatsword caused Asta to go sliding back despite blocking it.
He then heard Noelle talking and she told him to not give up as Aata had already seen that any of his attacks were simply healed.
It didn't help that he already felt that Mars was insanely powerful as he recovered from his brother's spell.
The encouraging words that Noelle gave helped reignite Asta's will to fight and all the sudden his sword glowed blue.
Figuring out what to do he sent a large water slash at Mars.
Seeing Asta's attack, I knew what would be happening next, and was ready to heal Asta when the time came but I had to pause.
'What's going on? Why am I okay with letting my little brother be hurt? Is it an effect of the legacy am I going to become an emotionless monster? No. I refuse to let that happen.'
My thoughts were quick and I broke out of my bindings and quickly rushed over to Asta.
I arrived just in time to stop Asta from being hit, but I shielded him with my body.
I wasn't worried about actually being hurt as my body was insanely durable now, but I didn't want to reveal that so I put up a wind barrier instead which repealed any flying debris.
I looked over and saw that I was too late, Asta had already been hit by a fragment of the armor and it looked to be bigger than the one in the show.
"No Asta!" I shouted only to get hit by a gigantic diamond hammer which impacted my wind barrier, shattering it and sending me flying.
I spammed into a wall and was about to rush back into the fight but realized I didn't have to.
I found myself in a world without color except for me and Yuno and I saw a glowing green orb next to his shoulder.
I then looked over and saw the hammer about to smash Asta to pieces.
I saw a green light impact the hammer and all of the sudden color returned and Mars' weapon was destroyed and a huge explosion of wind sent him flying into the far wall, the same one I punched him into and I saw the Diamond Golem break and saw Mars pass out.
I rushed over to Asta with Mimosa who was low on mana and I cast a healing spell on Asta.
While my spell was a less powerful spell than Mimosas' spell, mine would be active until Asta was fully healed.
"Thank you Mimosa for taking care of my brother." I said with a small smile.
I saw Yuno still in his same position looking shocked at what he had done.
I then walked over to him.
"Be shocked later, we have to make sure Asta is fine." I said to snap Yuno out of the trance he was in.
Yuno nodded and rushed over to Asta and saw the dual green light on his body and was simply hoping the healing would work.
