Though my in-laws knew that we kind of had done some naughty things together already, for the sake of the whole family's reputation, me and Caius were still given separate rooms inside the mansion. They were rooms at the opposite ends of the same floor where my parents-in-law's room was also located. My parents-in-law's room was right in the middle of the same hall acting like a barrier between our rooms.
I couldn't help but find it funny since it was quite similar to the wedding traditions of some of the more conservative countries back on Earth. They also say that it was unlucky to let the bride and the groom see or be with each other before the wedding. We still see each other during meals though but we are not allowed to stay in a place if it was just the two of us.
