Candice's POV
I don't know what it was that made me walk about the hospital's corridor that night, but when I saw him, I understood. My entire accumulated anger from the day turned into pure joy from seeing him walk out from a ward. What did he come for? Was he ill?
"You." He called sharply. I quickly went over to meet him, bowing slightly.
"Where is Susan?" He asked. I could detect an urgency in his voice.
"She is uh... In the theatre." I answered.
"Get her now!" He ordered. Huh? Did he not hear me?.I just said she is in the theatre!
"Alpha Devon, she-"
"Don't test my patience, little girl." From the way he yelled, my poor heart began to race and I almost cried. It was hurtful when a scary person yelled at you, especially when you were not wrong. But it was even more hurtful when the man you love yell at you.
