Chapter 66 - Space Freeze

Nanoe and Selina fell completely silent, feeling that Monica's adaptation speed was a bit... fast.

Monica also knew what they were thinking, but this thigh... she absolutely had to cling to it. That was why she would do anything to be able to stay in this room.

Being a maid was fine, being a slave was fine too.

At this moment, Nanoe seemed to have thought of something very interesting. She immediately took out an outfit she had bought from other Survivors.

When Monica saw that outfit, her face flushed red as if it were about to burst into flames.

"How is it?" Nanoe asked with a smile. "You don't want it?"

Monica pressed her lips together, then gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with determination. "Of course... I want it! But can you let me take a shower first, okay?"

Both Nanoe and Selina wore meaningful smiles, making Monica shiver. But the arrow had already left the bow, and she couldn't turn back anymore. Instead of regretting it, she thought about how she should make Rover happier.

...

Rover left the room and headed to Room 0609.

Along the way, he ran into quite a few people. The way they looked at him was a little... unfriendly. Fortunately, they didn't know he was Rover.

It wasn't that he was afraid of them, but he didn't want trouble.

When he reached Room 0609, he frowned upon seeing something like a gun barrel installed above the door.

Beside that barrel was a yellow talisman, emitting a faint glow.

'Is that... a defense tower?' Rover thought to himself.

He had also received two types of buildings, defense towers. However, that was because he had reached Rank 1 on the leaderboard of the first round.

But this room...

He recalled Morie's message and Nanoe's words. However, he didn't knock right away. Instead, he stood at a distance and sent Morie a message.

[Rover]: I'm here.

[Morie]: Wait a moment. I need to turn off the defense system.

Right after that, the gun barrel dipped slightly, then folded down ninety degrees, no longer aimed straight at Rover's face.

Crack!

The door opened, and a woman in a wheelchair appeared before him.

Platinum hair like strands of silver silk, a petite figure wearing a neat JK uniform that was also bright and lively. Fair skin, her body still relatively clean, an adorable face, yet covered by an icy aura as if she didn't want anyone to come close.

Seeing her, a question inevitably rose in Rover's mind: 'Her legs are paralyzed, so... all this time, how has she been living on her own?'

Morie pretended not to notice his scrutinizing gaze and said politely, "First time meeting. I'm Morie."

"I'm Rover," Rover replied softly.

Morie didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point. "I can become your woman. I have the ability to create defense towers, upgrade them, and improve them."

"Of course, I can also fulfill a woman's duties. I'm only paralyzed from the knees down. Everything else still works fine."

"I won't be jealous, and I won't get in your way. With those traits, I think I'm qualified to become your [Tenant]. Even though I'm paralyzed and have to use a wheelchair, I can take care of my own daily life and won't trouble you."

Morie spoke calmly and firmly, as if she were giving a presentation. No, more accurately, she treated this like an interview. He was the interviewer, and she was the job seeker.

Professional, composed, and confident.

She not only stated her weaknesses and strengths, she also addressed exactly the key points Rover cared about.

Rover didn't answer right away. He leaned his back against the wall and said with a frown, "Why did you choose me?"

Morie tilted her head to look at him. Her blue eyes were deep like a lake, making him feel a little captivated.

She looked at him for a moment, then said, "Because you're the one at the top of the leaderboard in the first round."

"Besides, the two women ranked second and third are both your [Tenants]. That proves their strength isn't weak either. From that, it can also be seen that you don't treat your women badly."

"Lastly, you're also quite handsome. If you were ugly, I wouldn't have made this decision with you. I would have found someone else."

Rover snorted a laugh, feeling this woman was quite interesting. He glanced at her and said with a smile, "Then... do you have any demands?"

Morie shook her head. "I don't have any special demands. As long as you treat me well, that's enough. Besides, I... I..."

Seeing her hesitate, Rover frowned. "You..."

Morie pressed her lips together, then said, "Because my legs are paralyzed, when we do that... can you... can you be a little gentler with me?"

"Ah!" Rover laughed and nodded. "Alright! Don't worry, I'll take you to my room."

Hearing that, Morie immediately operated the System, then took out a key and handed it to Rover.

[Ding! The Owner of Room 0609 is giving you the room key. Do you want to accept?]

"Accept!" Rover muttered.

Right after that, the key in Morie's hand vanished, then appeared again in Rover's hand.

Rover also immediately sent an invitation for her to become his [Tenant]. Morie agreed at once.

[Ding! Congratulations, Morie has become your Tenant.]

[Name: Morie]

[Role: Tenant]

[Looks: 87]

[Level: 01]

[Class: Defense Tower Engineer - Rank B08]

[Attributes: Physique 3 | Spirit 17]

[Output: 720 Omni Points / day]

Looking at Morie's status panel, Rover felt like she was a treasure. Not only did she have a useful Class, the Omni Points she provided every day were not low either.

He nodded in satisfaction, then pushed Morie back toward his room.

"I'll say it one more time, move!"

When Rover and Morie reached the lobby of Block B, a feminine voice rang out, carrying extreme displeasure and icy coldness.

He frowned, looking toward the crowd gathered around the staircase, but what hit his eyes was a figure that stood out among them, making everyone fearfully keep their distance.

"A monster?" Rover frowned and muttered.

Yes, that man's body was extremely bizarre. Over two meters tall, one arm and one leg had turned into a spectral state, and there were even faces on his body that twitched slightly, looking horrifying.

Beside that strange creature stood a blonde woman with tanned skin, a voluptuous figure wrapped in clothing that looked like special forces gear.

"It's a Frenzied Wraith!" Morie spoke up at this moment.

"You know what that is?" Rover asked with a frown.

Morie nodded. "Yes. That thing used to be a Survivor, it's just that... for some reason, it became like that. The girl standing next to that creature is his younger sister."

"Before, she contacted me to cooperate, but my legs are paralyzed, so I refused. However, she and I still exchange information often, so we can find a way to survive in this world."

Rover nodded, his gaze landing on the Frenzied Wraith. The System had said the round was over, so he figured that wraith had probably become the girl's possession.

"She's Millan," Morie explained. "She has the [Water] skill and is respected by many. But ever since she decided to live together with her brother, I mean... that strange creature is Dokai, her brother."

"From that moment on, no one dared approach her anymore. Some even wanted her to give up on Dokai."

Rover asked in confusion, "She has a [Water] type skill, so she can create water, right?"

Morie nodded. "That's right. I know what you're going to ask, but Dokai is a monster. Everyone is naturally afraid that one day Dokai will lose control and directly slaughter everyone."

"Besides, most of the people still alive are high-level Survivors. They don't lack food and water. What they lack is safety. That's why it's understandable that they don't want to live with Dokai."

Rover nodded. If it were him, he also wouldn't want an uncertain factor existing right beside him.

After all, Dokai had basically become a monster. No one knew when Dokai would lose control, and no one knew when Millan might go crazy and directly use Dokai to wipe everyone out.

That was why it was normal for them to want to kill Dokai or force Millan to abandon Dokai.

In the crowd, a young man stepped forward and said with a frown, "Millan, I advise you to let us deal with Dokai. We can't allow someone this dangerous to exist beside us."

Millan gritted her teeth. "This is my brother. I won't abandon him. Besides, you have no right to speak to me."

The man frowned, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. He waved his hand and said coldly, "Millan, you know what my skill is, right? If I use it, you're not my opponent."

"You..." Millan gritted her teeth. "Then you can try."

Millan also lifted her hand, and a water orb appeared, floating before her.

The man snorted a laugh, his voice carrying a hint of disdain. "Millan, do you really think your trash superpower can defeat me?"

At this moment, the surrounding crowd hurriedly retreated, leaving an empty space around the man and Millan.

GRAOO!!!

Dokai opened his mouth and roared. From within his mouth, spectral tentacles extended, looking incredibly grotesque and terrifying.

The man laughed. "If you want to die, then I'll help you. It's just a pity I haven't gotten to enjoy your perfect body yet."

"Space Freeze!"
