Chapter 4 - [Chapter 4: Awakener]

BANG!!!

Before Luka could finish his words, suddenly the door of their house was banged open.

In, came men in black clothes.

Those people entered as if it was their house, their imposing figures and strong build as well as their sudden intrusion into the house surprised Caiden's parents which made them stand up.

Seeing his parents stand up, Caiden couldn't help but do so too, then walk toward his parents.

Those people when they spotted them they stopped and then as if to give way, they stood aside, which then let them know who came.

A person walked in, his appearance was handsome, which is easy to know that this person's genes were strong. It was a Middle aged man who seemed to be in his early forties.

Black hair with some gray hairs mixed in, which showed his age, some wrinkles on the corner of his eyes, but even so it still showed his handsomeness, though not as handsome as his father or as good looking as his mother. Time hasn't spared much to this man.

Caiden recognized the man, his uncle, his mother's brother and his grandparents' favorite son, his first uncle, Miles Zolei Bolivar; his blue eyes were also characteristic of their family.

Caiden knew that if he was here, then his cousins and aunt had also come. And just as he thought, in came two youths, twins and a woman who seemed to be in her middle thirties. She was beautiful, but only to the level of being seen as elegant, if not for her make up, she would be a little better than ordinary.

"Clara, how have you been?" His uncle Miles asked.

Staring at Caiden's mother with disdainful and disgusting eyes.

His mother, behind his father, stiffened a little bit before responding.

"It's a while, brother." She said in an awkward tone of voice.

"It's been a while, Miles, as you see, we've been good, but you already should know it, right?" Luka spoke coldly, seeing as his wife stiffly spoke to Miles.

"Well, you're right, I already know. But I'm sure you too know why we came here, right?"

Miles said, while Caiden on the side stared at his supposed uncle.

This was his family, but he felt annoyed knowing they shared the same blood, though it was not for nothing. The main reason is that although they have suppressed his father and mother, they could still endure it, but the problem originated with what the original Caiden witnessed when he was young; nay, to be precise is either what he heard, which made the Caiden of now feel disgusted with this family.

When Caiden was eight years old, he heard his uncles talk about what they would have done to his mother the day his mother and father met for the first time.

They were trying to rape her, their own biological sister, his first and second uncle were trying to rape his mother, that if not for Luka saving her, she would have long lost her mind, as fragile as his mother was.

Well, his father saved his mother when she was drugged in her teens. His father at that time was 24 years old, while his mother had just entered his eighteenth, which in the country they live is considered adult.

Well, returning to the present, after hearing his uncles talk about what they would have done to his mother in her teens, Caiden got to know much more how disgusting his maternal family was, excluding his mother.

The only thought of those people disgusted Caiden, but even if he felt like that, he didn't speak and just watched his father and Uncle speak.

"Wow, Clara, dear!!! I didn't think you would be in such a shabby situation, if I wasn't informed, I wouldn't have believed it. You know, as a friend, you could have called me, you can always count on me when things go bad!!!" The woman, his aunt, then spoke. Her high pitched voice was too high to ignore.

"Auntie, you could have called, you know that we worry about your family." The twin boy spoke, his name was Alan.

"Al... is right, auntie, if we were not informed, we wouldn't have known your situation was so bad…." Elena, the younger twin, followed her brother's words.

And while she spoke, she assessed the house's state. Seeing how small it was, thought the house interior was simple and comfortable, which made one feel like home. She felt it was shabby and that it was poor quality.

"Auntie, I really don't know how you could bear to live in a place as shabby as this…" Elena said with disdain clearly voiced out.

She stared at Clara, Luka & her cousin. For some reason, Elena felt rage, and it was for no reason other than the appearance of the family of three.

She stared at them, her eyes bloodshot, their sole appearance made her blood boil in rage.

Every time she saw them, she couldn't help but think, 'Why?!!! Why do they have to be so beautiful!!! Why can't my parents be as fine looking as them! If only they were, I would be better looking!!! If only I had that foundation, Marcus wouldn't have left me for that bitch!!!'

While thinking so, her rage soared; nevertherless she soon was brought back to reality by her brother, Alan, "Lena, focus, remember why we came here."

Smiling charmingly, Alan spoke.

Elena then remembered what they were about to do and couldn't help but laugh gloatingly.

Although the twins didn't have the appearance as the family of three, they still bear the same bloodline from the Bolivar family, their appearance was still charming when laughing, even though their characters were so horrible.

Hearing the twins speak, their mother, who was already by their father also wanted to laugh. But she decided to bear with it, she stared at the family of three opposite them, "Clara, dear, you should know what we came for, right? And your husband, I hope you understand that we don't have bad intentions, right?" The woman, who was Miles' wife, namely, Victoria, spoke while smiling kindly, but it was behind that kind smile that Caiden knew how cruel and jealous this woman was of his mother.

Caiden stared quietly for a few seconds before finally he heard his father speak.

"There is no need to beat around the bush, Victoria…" Luka said, shifting his eyes toward his son, Caide, without giving much of an eye to Victoria Brown, "Son, the reason why we wanted to send you away was because this house is no longer ours, as I already said, we lost our jobs…" hesitating a little bit, Luka felt a little disappointed with himself, he then glanced at Caiden and met his eyes, smiling he continued his words, "We borrowed a loan a few years ago, and our house was mortgaged, according to the loan agreement we must repay within five years or else we must leave our house…." Saying this, Luka stared at his son, Caiden, a little, sighing, lips pursed.

Hearing his father, Caiden couldn't help but sigh, then asked, "It's because of college?"

He stared at his new father. Even though he transmigrated, he knew he was to deal with all the problems that would have afflicted the previous Caiden, though, for some reason, he always felt strange when thinking about this, as if he and the previous Caiden were connected somehow, as if they were the same.

His father, hearing his words, knew he couldn't make any excuses 'cause he knew how his son was always a little peculiar and had a keen sixth sense, different from normal people. He knew his son would always guess the reason for the problems they faced, but Caiden always stayed silent because he must have wanted to wait for them to speak of it.

Sighing, Luka said, "~Uh~ Yes, we wanted to send you to college, but then, you decided to quit. This put us in a difficult situation, and adding to that, the time limit to finish the mortgage was reaching its end, so we were worried about you…"

Hearing them, Caiden, already guessing the undercurrents of all the happenings, sighed.

"Wow!!! What an emotional conversation between family, Sister, if we know you were having such a hard time, we would have helped if you asked for help. We could have gladly helped you out of this situation…"

A high pitched rasped voice then sounded.

Caiden, who was about to speak, was interrupted by this voice, which made him frown and turn his head toward the voice's source. His uncle was the one to speak. He calmly stared at his uncle, with a frown between his eyebrows, which clearly showed how he felt, his deep blue eyes cold and indifferent, appeared as if there was a bottomless abyss within them.

Miles, who was suddenly stared at by those eyes, suddenly felt a chill down his spine, and when he met directly those eyes, he suddenly felt as if he was being stared back by an abyss. He felt scared. Startled, he suddenly took a step back, "What!!!" but then he noticed what he did, and became embarrassed, felt as if he had done something unsightful, 'What I'm doing?! Am I scared?!!! Scared of that boy?!!!'

"Darling? What are you doing"

"Dad?"

Miles then heard his wife with his children's worried voices, asking a little awkwardly because the three noticed Miles' strange movements. Though they too felt scared for a moment when Caiden spoke and stared coldly at their father(husband), the three also felt humiliated, so they spoke to Miles, which brought Miles back to his senses.

Miles, hearing them, realized his earlier appearance, "W-well, sister, you already should know why we came here, right?" Trying to regain his composure he spoke.

"There is no need to worry uncle, we'll leave. This house you could have it, but…"

Hearing them, it was Caiden who spoke this time. Throwing his gaze toward his cousins and up his uncle Miles's wife, Victoria, he paused for a moment.

Feeling Caiden's gaze, Alan, Elena and Victoria, with their chins raised high, in arrogance, they directly turned toward him, which caused them to meet his gaze. The moment they met Caiden's eyes, they jolted.

Fear for a moment, they met the cold and indifferent eyes of the teenager, but within those same eyes, they could perceive a boundless abyss, as if there was nothing there, but they felt as if they would be swallowed into an abyss if they were to try to provoke him. Cold sweat ran down their spines, they felt chilling to the bone marrow.

"...After this don't ever try to cross paths with us, and don't you ever regret it." Turning his gaze back toward his uncle after gazing toward his cousins and aunt, Caiden stared at his uncle, indifference in his eyes, and finished his words.

As Caiden spoke once more, the three, who he stared at, suddenly returned to themselves and realized how they felt, embarrassment washing their faces, the three had the same thought:

'How dare he stare at me like that? This humiliation will be counted on, I swear I will make him pay!!!' Alan & Elena.

'Does this brat realize what he's done? I will return this humiliation tenfold!!!' Victoria.

Regaining their composure, the family of four, stared at Caiden and his parents, and realized what Caiden wanted.

Miles was the one to answer, smiling he said, "Well, I promise, we wouldn't do things difficult for you.." but deep down he thought, 'Brat, do you think it's that easy to get rid of me, i will make you know that to leave, you only have one option, and that is dead.'

Thinking of how his child had both awoken just recently, he could help but grin deep down.

Hearing him, Caiden stared at Miles before turning to his parents, "When is the eviction notice?" He asked.

"A week from now…" Luka answered.

"If there's still time, why are you here uncle?" Caiden asked, not even bothering to turn toward him.

"Jaja… Well, there was a change of plans, and you must move today!!!" Miles said, a grinning smile adorning his face and his eyes.

"Then, that means that we still have time. Uncle, I'm sure you're aware of the consequences it takes to take the house before the time estimated, right?" Caiden ignored Miles' words and spoke. His tone was indifferent to how he talked to them as if they were not important, and as if he didn't care about them.

This made Miles grin, which was plastered on his face distorted, "And what do you know? A brat like you know nothing of life, you don't know nothing on how this works!" Losing his patience Miles said, he already felt humiliation from how he felt scared before when the brat stared at him with those bottomless indifferent cold eyes. He wanted to vent his anger for his earlier humiliation.

"Yeah! What do you know! Besides, if we want you to leave, you must leave!!! Who is gonna stop us from doing what we want?! No one!!! You hear, no one!!!" At this moment, Elena spoke for her father too, feeling that it was time for these people to know their places. She already felt humiliation for having a mother who didn't have great looks, and now she finally had the opportunity to get rid of these family of three who she hated because they were too good looking, yeah, for her having good looks was everything and hated everyone else who looked better than her, which since little has always done everything to destroy those who were only slightly better than her when she encountered such people.

"Elena, it's not required to scream like that, besides mind your manner…" Alan followed with these words, but his gloating smile and expression plastered on his face.

Staring at her twin who looked just like her, Elena felt angry but composed herself and said, "What? Did I say something wrong? I don't think so, since you pretty well know that I didn't say anything wrong. There is not one to stop us since we are awakeners… There is no one who will step for them." Thinking of this Elena couldn't help but turn toward Caiden and his parents, staring at Caiden while gloating at him, "Unlike someone, we can do whatever we want and no one will say anything!"

Ok seeing for a while, Alan responded, "Yeah, right. I almost forgot."

"Darlings, don't say so, remember that little Cai still has a chance to awaken!" This time Victoria spoke, turning toward Caiden and his parents, and his eyes fixed on Clara, "Clara, dear, you know they didn't mean it, can you forgive them. They're just children, you know that for childrens, awakeners are always above ordinary people." In an apologetic expression she said, but her tone of words when she spoke to her son was clearly mocking her.

Caiden noticed and didn't say anything, he knew they only wanted to mock them because he, rather, the former Caiden was still an unawakened person, different from his parents who were both awakened. His mother, as said before, her occupation when she awoke, she was given the Apothecary occupation. Though rare, it was not uncommon. His father on the other hand had no occupation, he only awoke the ability, Verdant Embrace, which is a G ranked ability which let him have a good affinity with small plants. Quite the pair, if one may ask, since his father was an electrician.

Without paying too much attention to them, Caiden spoke once again, "Uncle, it would be better if you comply, because I've been recording our conversation since the beginning, which is enough evidence to sue you for breaking the loan contract and chasing us out, besides the fact that my father still has the loan contract, I think you wouldn't want to take this enmity to court and let everyone know our grudges, which will tarnish the Family reputation and lead the Bolivar family to suffer loses..." Pausing, he stared at his uncle Miles whose face started to blacken the more he spoke, he then saw as Miles was about to retort, but without givin a change Caiden continued, "And if you're clever you will know that we've nothing to lose in taking this to court unlike your family."

Hearing his words Miles knew what Caiden was talking, his expression turning grim he clenched his fists, and sure enough, he knew that it was about the recent project they acquired by luck and as Caiden has said, they have nothing to lose compared to them(Bolivar family).

Yes, Caiden was referring to the recent project the Bolivar family was in charge of, if there was any scandal about their family about this time, it doesn't matter how small the scandal is, it would affect this project and the loss they would suffer would be unimaginable.

But what he wanted to know was, how did Caiden learnt of such a project within their family? He stared at Caiden wanting to decipher him but couldn't get the answers he knew.

However contrary to Miles's thoughts, Caiden easily said it, "You should ask your children. They've been boasting about it to their friends in school, but rest assured only I've heard of it so far." Saying this, Caiden pointed to Miles's children, Alan and Elena.

Hearing this Miles felt like puking blood, he felt like he would kill his children if they weren't his!!!

He turned and stared at them as if he wanted to strangle them, his face gloomy.

Alan and Elena who received their father's grim face suddenly felt stiff.

Though they understood that it was their fault, they never thought that someone would listen to them in school since the place where they talked about it with their friends was pretty secluded. But who would have known someone heard them boasting, and what they didn't expect was that the one who heard them was Caiden.

On the other hand their father was worried because if it really was brought to court, the project they're working would be lost and worse of all they could even go bankrupt. Besides that, he remembered how his daughter boasted about being an awakener, if word were to be heard that they're abusing their power as an awakener, they would not only lose the project but also the opportunity to continue cooperation with the Vilese Family.
