Chapter 511 - [509] Marriage?

To anyone, angels were a tantalizing race.

Noble! Holy! Powerful! Divine!

A litany of descriptors fit them perfectly. Yet, across the world, no one had ever successfully paired with an angel.

Even if an angel fell in love, the outcome was inevitable—they'd fall, becoming a fallen angel.

Now angels wanted a marriage alliance? How? Even married, they'd be untouchable—consume them, and they'd cease to be angels, turning into fallen ones instead.

Seeing August's distaste, Sirzechs understood. It was indeed awkward.

But this was politics. Marriage was just a tool; the real goal was linking devils and angels. The spouse's identity wasn't the priority.

"That was before. Michael's updated Heaven's 'System' now. The rule about angels falling has been revised—it won't apply to future angels."

"Hm? He changed the 'System'?"

"Yes."

"So who's the marriage candidate?"

"A holy sword wielder named Irina Shidou. Michael's taken a liking to her. Once she returns, she'll be reincarnated into an angel using the rebirth tech."

"A reincarnated angel for a marriage alliance? That's Heaven's sincerity?"

August's anger flared. Irina Shidou—one of the Church's holy sword duo. He'd met her.

In the original story, Michael did turn her into an angel. She became Issei Hyoudou's wife and bore him a son.

But August wasn't Issei. A Lord of the House of Demon, a public Satan-Class being, with a world Fenrir as his familiar—his status was leagues above.

A reincarnated angel for him?

"August, pureblood angels' faith in the 'Biblical God' is absolute. It's impossible—"

"Hmph. Tell Michael this, I'm not a dump for just anyone. Want a marriage alliance? Fine. Package Gabriel and send her over. Otherwise, forget it."

"August, Gabriel's a seraph. How could—"

Boom!

Before he finished, a terrifying pressure descended.

Sirzechs froze, staring at August as if facing a true 'Satan.' Behind August, the pitch-black Gate of Sins materialized.

That wasn't what stunned him most. It was August's oppressive force—pinning him down, rendering him helpless.

August's power surpassed Super Class at least, maybe even top-ten level.

Sirzechs's shock was indescribable. No wonder August tamed Fenrir—his strength exceeded it.

In that moment, Sirzechs's lingering doubts unraveled.

Even Loki, Fenrir's creator, couldn't fully control it. August did—and made it his familiar—because his power was absolute.

August didn't know Sirzechs's thoughts, nor would he care if he did.

"August, you're Super Devil?"

"Hmph. I never said I wasn't."

"Great—fantastic! I'll inform Michael right away."

Sirzechs beamed. If August was a Super Class being, devils now boasted four of them.

No exaggeration—their top-tier might now outstripped angels and fallen angels. Michael and Azazel were mere Satan-Class.

Michael, though a hair's breadth from Super Class—far stronger than Satans—wasn't one. To Super Classs, the distinction was irrelevant.

August, a Super Devil himself, plus Fenrir? Demanding Gabriel wasn't excessive.

"No need. I'll visit Heaven myself later."

"What are you planning?"

"Since it's a marriage alliance, I'll pick my bride personally."

"Alright, just… don't overdo it~"

"I know my limits."

August turned and left.

Seeing his attitude, Sirzechs didn't mind. August was the devils' golden goose—worthy of pampering.

Squeak~

August pushed the door open. Hilda and Grayfia waited outside.

"Your Highness~"

Hilda hurried to his side the moment he emerged.

Grayfia gave a slight bow.

"Hilda, where are Rias and Sona?"

"At home. Lady Rias, Lady Sona, and Lady Ravel were summoned back by their families."

"I see~"

Clearly, yesterday's banquet ruckus had stirred attention.

Fenrir's pups, Hati and Skoll, gifted to Rias and Sona, were already Ultimate-Class. Properly trained, they could reach Satan-Class—a dream for most.

While Satan-Class devils weren't rare, they were mostly family reserves.

For many devil clans, that level was unattainable. The Gremory and Sitri families had just snagged two future Satan-Class familiars—laughing in their sleep.

It was also a signal—August cherished and invested in his women.

Given all this, August had no doubt that if he sought a marriage alliance now, countless families would fling their daughters at him.

"Hilda, contact Yolda. We're heading to Heaven later."

"Uh, Your Highness, why Heaven?"

"Michael wants to send me a wife. I'm going to pick one."

"Huh?"

Hilda blinked, confused. Grayfia shared her bewilderment.

Angels marrying out? Unheard of—impossible.

But considering August's power, Hilda reconsidered. In this world, might ruled supreme.

"Oh, Grayfia, my household needs a head maid. If you're interested, you're welcome to switch teams."

"Thank you, Your Highness, but I'm content with the Gremorys."

"Just throwing it out there. If you ever change your mind, find me anytime."

August left with Hilda. The widowed Lady Lucifer—he'd be lying if he said he wasn't tempted. Cuckolding a Satan sounded amusing too.

Hi guys, Elenea here! I just want to announce that starting now I'll be trying to focus on my own original fanfic, which I've been thinking about for the past few days (lol I really mulled this over briefly for a few days and decided I'm going to make it a full novel).

[Worse Than the Devil (DxD)]

Synopsis:

Devil.

An evil and chaotic creature, born from hell, which are often a scapegoat for humans. Blamed for the atrocities they themselves commit.

"The devil made me do it."

A phrase always uttered by humans after committing crimes, casting blame and responsibility for their wrongdoings onto the devil.

But not all humans are like that, for there is one man who would gleefully commit atrocities that would be condemned by all of human history and accept the blame and responsibility for those wrongs with open arms.

His name is Michael, but in stark contrast to the meaning of his name 'Who is like God' he is not a devout man who draws near to God's embrace. Instead… he is the one who sends lost sheep to meet God's embrace much faster.

Btw, a quick note before you decide to read, if you have a heart as pure as glass, I suggest you don't read this because it REALLY gets dark to early. The first chapter will give you a little idea of what I might explore later on in this fanservice harem-themed world like DxD.

Adios!
