Chapter 163 - Through the preserve

Rosemary's pov:

In addition to my aching back, I had to spend the entire fucking day, in a standing position, all the while dodging Orin's glare.

And all it took was one measly question to put me out of line in his logs. Although, his reaction had the merit of answering another question of mine, at the very least.

He made it clear that I was one of if not the only human employee with that level of security clearance. 

Playing my cards wrong down there might just turn out to be the end of me.

Much like the three previous times I've traversed it in the past two days, the preserve is quite calm. The trees carry on swaying with the winds in a lulling manner. A sight that may or may not convey the wrong conception about this place. 

The unsuspecting soul might be led to believe that this is but a nice and peaceful forest area where wilderness seeks refuge, but I know better not to fall for the illusion.
