"Delivery for Alex Walker."

Alex stared at the door.

The door, being a door, did nothing.

'Okay. Okay, okay, okay. Nobody panic. It's just a knock. People knock on doors all the time. Just not this one. Ever.'

He looked down at himself. He was kneeling on the floor in the light of four hundred glowing crystals, holding a photograph, with wet eyes. It was not his most heroic pose.

'Luna. Trap?'

'I don't think so.'

'You don't THINK so?'

'Lexie, I have been inside a ring inside a box under your bed. I am not the one who knows who visits.'

'...Fair.'

He tried to think like a hunter. Who knew he was here? Nobody. He had walked across half the city on rooftops so that nobody would know he was here. He had dropped flat for three men in red and waited until his elbows went numb.

And somebody had still knocked within an hour of him getting home.

'Unless they knew before I did,' he thought. 'Unless they were waiting for the light.'
