Choso wasn't exactly sure how this was possible, but he was certain that somehow, this black-haired man was his brother… No, more accurately, his brothers!

The blood-soul connection between them was strong, and it told him everything he needed to know the moment his eyes landed on Tanshoku.

It seemed that somehow, his prayers had been answered. Not only did he have the will of his two deceased brothers strengthening him, but now he also had the rest of his brothers aiding him in this battle.

He wanted to talk to Tanshoku, embrace him, and ask for forgiveness for leaving them in the dark for so long.

But at this very moment, they didn't have time for that. The root of all evil, the one who had caused all the misery in their lives, was right in front of them, practically begging for a beating.

My little brothers!

On the battlefield, Choso's expression hardened as he charged toward Kenjaku, the blood from his body swirling to form a halo behind his back with four small wasp-like wings.

Let's kill our damn father!

At this very moment, they had to fulfill their goal at all costs. And Tanshoku, even unaware of the entire plan, seemed to completely understand that they needed to eliminate Noritoshi Kamo. So, following his brother, he also charged forward, the blood chain on his arm glowing a vibrant red.

His desire to embrace Choso was no less than that of his older brother, but all of them had been awakened with the purpose of aiding in this battle. And for the memory of their two deceased brothers and their beloved younger brother who was out there fighting to clean up the mess caused by Kenjaku, they would do whatever it took to achieve this.

Even if it meant giving up their lives!

"How annoying." Kenjaku watched the two approach with irritation evident on his face, a frustrated sigh escaping his lips. "I already understand what you're trying to do, and I regret to inform you…"

Bam!

Leaping as countless blood arrows struck the ground where he had been standing, Kenjaku quickly summoned a few curses to block other arrows launched at him, the creatures dispersing in an explosion of smoke that allowed the curse user to retreat.

"But there's no chance you'll make me expand my domain."

His words carried confidence, but above all, disdain for these two opponents. Choso was weak, a quick entertainment at best, while this second figure… Kenjaku didn't even know who he was. But there was a strange sensation in his soul that seemed to tell him he somehow knew him.

Is he one of the death paintings?

Well, it didn't matter either way. In his eyes, if he couldn't remember, then he wasn't someone worth his time.

And with a quick glance, he could tell that this new figure's level wasn't far from Choso's, so it irritated him that the two thought they could push him to the point of expanding a domain.

It might seem like an adult exaggerating with a child, but Kenjaku wasn't in the mood to deal with these disposable ones. He would show them what made a special-grade sorcerer so different from the rest.

And he wouldn't even break a sweat doing it.

"Now, big brother!"

Kenjaku blinked when he heard someone's voice, his head turning to see a chain firmly wrapping around his wrist, preventing him from moving.

"Like Eso, elegant!"

His eyes widened when a hand gripped his clothes tightly, his gaze noticing a long thread of blood connecting it.

"Like Kechizu, free!"

Kenjaku realized their intent and prepared to avoid being pulled, but he was surprised when instead, it was Choso who came to him, using his extended limb as a rope.

"Like Yuji, POWERFUL!"

Boom!

Catching him off guard in such a way that Kenjaku barely had time to summon a curse to defend himself, a punch loaded with power struck his stomach, his teeth clenching as he kicked Choso away and retreated.

But unable to go far when the chain on his wrist abruptly pulled him back, he turned to see a fist inches from his face, too close for him to defend.

Bam!

The attack landed squarely, his half-closed eyes turning to his attacker to see Tanshoku pulling the chain back and transforming it into a crimson gauntlet that covered his entire fist.

"It's not over yet, you bastard!"

Bam!

And hitting him with another punch, this time with even more destructive power thanks to the gauntlet, Kenjaku was sent flying, his back slamming against the trunk of the small tree in the center of the area as blood dripped from his nose.

"Don't let him recover, keep attacking!" Choso shouted, and despite his weakened body due to the extensive damage earlier, he pushed his legs with all his might, the blood on his back swirling in preparation.

Tanshoku didn't need a second word as he charged forward with similar determination, his blood gauntlet shifting into a crimson sword.

"How annoying…" Spitting a bit of blood, Kenjaku maintained a calm expression as he wiped his nose, as if this were nothing more than a minor inconvenience. His eyes, fixed for a moment on the blood from his wounds, turned to the two adversaries rushing toward him. "And to think I'd actually have to use this."

With a disappointed sigh, the curse user brought his hands together, causing the two in front of him to stop abruptly, Choso's eyes widening as he felt the tension in the air shift.

Is he going to-

"Nah, I was just kidding."

But when Kenjaku spread his hands while sticking out his tongue, Choso's shocked expression immediately hardened, his teeth clenching in anger.

"You damn-"

Boom!

Choso opened his mouth to curse, but before he could finish his shout, a wave of curses slammed into him like a fierce tide, his body being crushed against the ground just like before, but this time, with even more ferocity.

"Big brother!" Tanshoku shouted, his eyes filled with fury turning to Kenjaku to see him raising his hands as if this weren't his fault. "Noritoshi Kamo!!!"

Tanshoku closed the distance between them in an instant, his fist slamming into the curse user's defenses with enough force to surprise him.

"Blood manipulation, and at a level high enough to create solid objects like concrete." Blocking another punch, Kenjaku said with interest, which only further irritated Tanshoku. "You're another death painting, aren't you? How did you possess a body?"

"Why would I tell you?!" Trying to slash him with his blood sword, Tanshoku growled when Kenjaku skillfully dodged the blade.

"I don't think you would." Kenjaku replied with disinterest, his hand parrying an attempt to slash him and grabbing the death painting's wrist to prevent him from moving.

!

Tanshoku growled, but when a strange sound came from below, he slowly shifted his gaze to see a cluster of curses forming in Kenjaku's palm.

"But I think you've wasted enough of my time."

Boom!

A wave of curses struck Tanshoku's stomach with force, blood flying from his mouth as he was pushed back by the curses until he was pinned against the only tree in the area, Kenjaku sending the curses for a few more seconds before finally stopping.

"I won't lie, I was a bit surprised by those punches." Kenjaku rubbed the back of his neck, showing little reaction as he watched a bloodied Tanshoku fall face-first to the ground. "But that's all it was. In the end, you didn't even manage to serve your purpose, so…"

With his hand glowing with cursed energy, Kenjaku approached Tanshoku's body. "I can only say goodbye, failures I should have disposed of from the start."

"Hey!"

About to eliminate Tanshoku for good, Kenjaku raised an eyebrow at the call, turning to see a bloodied Choso pointing both hands together at him.

"I told you before -Sigh- That the only failure here is you!"

Kenjaku's expression shifted from disinterest to boredom, his eyebrow raised as he wondered if Choso could really be this stupid.

!

But his eyes widened when he felt both his legs being grabbed, Kenjaku looking down in shock to see Tanshoku holding him in place with his hands, a small mocking smile on his lips.

"You heard our brother, you bastard!"

Damn it! Kenjaku clenched his teeth, and as he was about to crush Tanshoku with a wave of curses, he had to shift his attention when Choso shouted furiously.

"For my brothers, die Noritoshi Kamo!!!"

Swoosh!

The piercing blood shot from his hands like a bullet, the pressure on Choso's already injured muscles making him clench his teeth tightly as he struggled to endure.

Kenjaku, who saw the blood approaching, growled in irritation, his eyes closing as he could, for once, commend the cunning of these children who were nothing but failures.

But would this be enough to end the life of someone with experience comparable to Tengen himself?

Unfortunately for the sorcerers, no. It was far from enough.

Bam!

Just as the tip of the piercing blood got close enough to Kenjaku, Choso's eyes widened when the blood was abruptly pushed to the ground. Tanshoku, who had been firmly holding the curse user in place, had his body crushed against the hard ground, this time, sending him into unconsciousness.

And Kenjaku, standing victoriously, simply met Choso's gaze with a raised eyebrow, as if asking what he would try next.

Crack!

"I may be an only child, but I think I can say…"

The attention of both turned to the source of the shattering sound once more, a confident Yuki Tsukumo emerging.

"But you're one hell of a badass, big bro!"

But while Yuki's presence alone was enough to surprise, an imposing figure appeared with calm steps right behind her.

With a suit that accentuated his robust build and an eyepatch on the left side of his face that seemed to cover not just a defective eye but also a large burn scar, this blond-haired man exuded an intimidating aura.

Who was this?

"So you're the one causing all this trouble." Removing his suit jacket, the man pulled his tie and wrapped it around his fist, cursed energy exploding throughout his body in a display of raw power. "Tsukumo, let's wrap this up quickly… I'd hate to do overtime when I should be retired…"

"Right, right!"

Kento Nanami, the most brutal grade-one sorcerer.
