The rodent destruction, undead revival, the gnoll attack and their plagues, Lord Hether's self-sacrifice, the uproar upon the emergence of the Evil God, and finally, the conclusion with the Star-world Tear.
Events that ordinary people might not encounter once in a lifetime played out repeatedly, ravaging Blackflame Mountain Pass until the land collapsed under the burden, falling like a defeated warrior, then dying, and in an instant turning to ash and dust.
The taste of all this was obviously more complex for those soldiers who had sworn to live and die with the stronghold.
Tears and crying were the least of their reliefs, while greater fears lurked in the shadows of their hearts, making it foreseeable that the major churches would soon be very busy.
